Invalid Medical Card?????

Discussion in 'Medical Cannabis: Treatments & Patient Experiences' started by TokerIS350, Feb 17, 2010.

  1. I got pulled over yesterday by a cop. Blah Blah Blah. Cop asks if i have anything illegal in the car and i said yes to be honest i have some marijuana on me but i have a medical card.. He took my license insurance registration and medical card that contained my REC ID/Physician etc. 20 Minutes later...Then a 2nd cop shows up and walks up to me in my car with his gun... Thats when they tell me that my medical card is not valid... They confiscated my Marijuana, Gave me a ticket... I dont know if the cops were being dicks... or if i got screwed over by the evaluation center.. I live in california, i got my medical card in studio city in a place called Cannabis Card Center. Paid 80$.. Anyone ever been there? Ive been picking up from medical clinics for over a month now.. i cant see how its not valid...

    anyway heres their website

    The Cannabis Card Center

Oh and when i went, I got approved super easy, i dont know if thats a bad thing, i had no medical records what so ever on me, and i just turned 18 :p. Their was a guy wearing a nurses outfit, and he was the one who asked you about all your health problems and stuff.

    Anyone have experience like this?

  2. probably because that physcian has not lost his job for selling the cards pretty much

  3. I got my card recently. I took about two hours all together. To my understanding you have to be 21 and have a serious condition to get approved with out medical papers. I have a torn meniscus in my left knee and bad back pain since I was in an car accident last year. I'm also 21. And I have papers from other doctors visits from both injuries. So getting mine wasn't necessarily "hard" but I wouldn't say it was easy.

And I really want to stress that you shouldn't get a card just to smoke weed.

So, it may have been because they called to check and there was no medical record...Some of those places are pretty shady.

Best thing to do would be to call the place you got it from and tell them what happened. Tell them you want your money back man.

  4. You doctor is not playing by any rules - The cops know this - so your card is nothing when they know the doctor you used just sells recommendations. You need medical records to prove your need cannabis.

Did you really expect that "Cannabis Card Center" would get you a legit card? Use your head dude.

    Edit:
I just went to the link for that and it looks like they dropped their prices to $65 since you've been there apparently. I'll let you connect the dots as to why they did that.. If you can't figure it out, you absolutely deserve what happened.

"Oh and when i went, I got approved super easy, i dont know if thats a bad thing, i had no medical records what so ever on me, and i just turned 18." <-- Does that sound like a legit clinic visit to you?

  6. 21? Nope. All my friends are under 21 but above 18 and have MMJ cards.

  7. you guys are really acting like a bunch of douche bags.

if you have a card you should be fine. i'd challenge the fines and go to court if necessary, you might even be able to get your pot back.

  8. Dude u serious. There is over 1000 pot clubs in cali, but only 176 have legal permits.

  9. Do you have a state issued card as well? State issued cards makes validation (especially with law enforcement) much easier.

Is your currently doctors recommendation still valid? You need to renew it yearly.

If you only have a doctors recommendation (like I do) it's more of a get of a jail free card than legal cannabis card. A medical patient friend recently got stopped with a QP, the cops just confiscated it but no ticket.

Next time think about getting your prescription from a real medical facility (general practitioner) who also happens to provide medical cannabis recommendations as well.

  10. How do you verify which have permits and which don't?

  11. If he had an actual condition none of this would have happened. Medical records are needed for a reason, so the 90% of people my age (19) that want it just to smoke weed freely, don't get a card. I'm sick of seeing people take advantage of it like this. You never know, but there is a good chance that this could fuck it up for the people who actually do need it. People who have broken their necks :)wave:), people with cancer or aids, or anything else that is actually DEBILITATING. They're not for some stoner who decided his back aches and weed is the only thing that helps it. Suck it up. If you want to smoke weed freely, get off your ass and help with the legalization movement

  12. If they don't have any other medical records they are gonna be in deep shit with the cops.

Playing the system is NOT ok. It makes it harder on anyone who has a legit reason.

I'm just gonna quote this again, because I really think some people need to read it.

  13. Bunch of immature people in this thread. People acting like they deserve MMJ but not other people. Immaturity, if you ask me.

  14. If you are referring to me, not sure if you are. All I am saying is, you shouldn't go in there, fully healthy with no real need for medical cannabis and make something up to get one.

That is not cool. If you have a legitimate reason, you should totally have one. If you are unsure, they will have a list of qualifying conditions at the clinic.

  15. You don't think that someone who broke their and has gotten migraines every other day for 3 years doesn't derseve MMJ compared to the OP who said "i had no medical records what so ever on me, and i just turned 18 :p."? Why don't you read a little before you talk, bro.

That's immaturity, if you ask me.

  16. THANK YOU! I have been apart of the medicinal movement for a while, haven't been active due to Army service, but even before I needed it I was all for it. Now I have disabilities from my service and weed is the only thing I can take and not feel worse from side affects. I am all for recreational decriminalization, but these punks getting caught up with the medical scene just to smoke is horrible. If your 18 or 19 years old I would really like to know what it is that ails you so much, I am 24 I got physical and mental problems all service connected...thats what I get for joining the Army during war times and choosing combat arms as a job. I need medicinal to pass in my state, but nowhere near as much as other people need it to too.

  17. You cant Go around Judging people because you think you are "more fit" for something that only a doctor can tell you.......... You are not a doctor. I wont judge you for your "phsyical and mental " problems, i promise.

  18. I didn't mean it like that, but the trend is that under 21 patients who use herb are not exactly needing of it the way that other patients are. I wouldn't go as far as to say that Joe Whoever age 18, been to a therapist every day for 4 years, etc doesn't need it...but when Ned Aswhipe age 18 gets a card with no medical records or no even real reason other than to smoke legally it is a farce, it hurts everyone.

And I have had a doctor tell me that what I have is what I have...that is kind of how I got out of the Army, because a doc said I was not fit for duty and prescribed several shitty pills for me to take...I hate pills...besides pain killers I don't take pills.

  19. Fight the ticket, I dont think you will have any issues. Post results.
