    Ohm is actually a hindu beleif; the sound of the universe.

    Few sects on Buddhism share this concept.

    rasta man, buddhism was hinduism until they broke away from that religions traditions. some hindus believe buddha was one of the incarnations of vishnu.
    and om is a holy sound, regardless of what religion or philosophy you believe.

    The Om,Ohm, or Aum is known as the sound of the Earth…creation...the heart of existence.

    Om, Aum, Ohm is a meditation symbol of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism.

    "Om" is also the name the Hindus gave the spiritual sun.

    The word is Sanskrit. It is pronounced at the beginning and end of every lesson in the "Veda" .

    yes it is a sanskrit "word", but it is a holy sound, just like "hu" for instance.
