Internet Connection Fail?

    hopefully someone can help me :(

    to start, i don't pay for internet. my neighbors moved in beneath me shorty after i moved in. they asked if i had internet/cable and i told them i did not.

    he offered to get internet and just give me his password, now that's wassup :D

    everything has been fine since...

    but now every time i try and log online on my PS3 it won't connect. i go through the suggested actions, try reconnecting to the internet, connection test etc. but nothing.

    now here i the kicker, my laptop works fine online, as well as my roommates. but my roommates PS3 also seems to have a problem connecting to the internet.

    is there anything i should do that i haven't? im so lost and so high and in need of my games! :devious:

    Try to reconnect router.

    have you tried kicking it? i hear that kicking the hardware helps the software work better

    have done that.

    in the past it has worked, then the next day after work same problem.

    now it doesn't do anything

    im using the internet on my laptop right now, and even if i turn it off and try on the PS# it fails.

    just tried the connection test.

    Obtain IP Address: Succeeded
    Internet Connection: Failed

    Had some problem. And it had strange issue. I had to start computer first and then start ps3 and connect to internet. Yeah it is strange but it worked for me.

    that's basically what i just did

    hopped on here to start a thread and for the hell of it started the PS3 shortly after.

    same error code, fails to connect.

    Try connect that "jack" or whatever what is connected to PS3 as internetcable put out for min and after min put in again and try to connect.

    well its my neighbors internet, he gave me the password so i don't have it hard lined in, i use wifi

    wifi works fine for laptop, ipod etc. just not my PS3, and i just checked all my internet settings and they all look fine

    How long you have PS3? Did you ever clean it? Trough fan will go to PS3 box alot of unwanted things, like smoke etc.

    no, i keep good care of my things. the console itself works fine for everything besides the internet

    i don't get it

    Maybe PS3 network have maintance or something?

    Check the network settings on your PS3 menu. It might be set up to not receive wifi signals.
