Some useful information I found out. I was looking into what a power bar can support (connected to a timer), and saw that a 600W HPS is roughly 10Amps, and a power bar (Checking the back) can support 15. So with fans and everything it should be safe to use. I wasnt too sure of this at first and was afraid of starting a fire or blownig a circuit, any extra info on it would be c00l.
Hey there Cretin, Just reading around a few faqs in various places on the net recently, a lot of pros don't recommend fully loading circuits. They say no more than 70% to 80% of the rated ampage should be used. So for a 15amp strip, going by the lower 70% figure, (10.5amps), you're lamp is pretty much gonna all you can safely plug into it, (which would, of course, be pointless). Grow Safe.
If the bar has a circuit breaker as long as it doesn't trip that or the house breaker it should be fine.
