** Intake outake questions**

  1. Whats up GC Community? I had a go at this site a year back and a lot has changed since then. Location, equipment, etc...

I'll start off by listing what I am up to now and maybe you guys can help throw some ideas at me cause i do have a few questions

This is my setup/in progress which is where some questions come in.

I have Two 2x4 Secret Jarden dr120's (one for veg, one for flower)

The veg tent is equipped with:
-One 2ft Four bulb T5 for cloning.
-One 250w MH with Lumatek Ballast and Wing hood for Veg
-One 175w Mini Sunburst for one mother.
-Two single linked T5's for the sides of the mother as well..
-Use FFOC with General Organics for Nutes
**will list fans after, thats where my questions come in..

The flower tent is equipped with:
-(waiting to receive) one Apollo 600w Cool Tube/digital ballast

So at the moment I have my 250 in the flower tent while awaiting the 600
So the flower tent is now being exhausted with a 4inch 160CFM inline fan
And just a 4" duct booster for the intake coming from a window, and its keeping the temps around 73-76.

The Veg tent is setup as follows, until the 600 comes in then ill move the 250 over to the veg, with the 175 sunburst and the T5. With another 4" duct booster for intake from a window, and an * inch duct booster as the exhaust. So I know once i put the 250 in the veg tent the 8 inch duct booster wont be an officiant outtake, am I correct?

Along with the 600 cool tube coming is also a 6inch 440 CFM inline fan. So this will leave me with (fans) a 440 CFM, a 160 CFM two 4" inch and one 6" duct booster.

Pictures will certainly be posted soon. And this is/will be a journal just wanted to get a little advise about what i should do for the fans, outtake/intake... can I use what I have? and which ones where or what? or combine outtakes or combine intakes? just what ever ideas you folks may have, i just want to hear some ideas, all your heads and mine are better then one (me) lol

  2. Im actually have a hard time understanding this.

a 440 CFM fan will work with the 600w light, and the 160CFM should be enough for the 250 as long as u keep the ducting short and no bends

  3. Ps. The cold part I mentioned is a good thing cause these tents can run hot. And summer I use an ac 24/7

  4. Yeah cronic sry, it's a bit confusing. I know the 440 is going with the cool tube and carbon filter. Just wondering about what intake fans would be good with what I have

  5. You dont need intake with a grow like this. Just use passive intake....

  6. Ok cool. One more question, how so I create a passive intake that's also light proof on the flower tent? Cause both tents are in the same room and with all the vents open on the veg tent, which is 24/7 cycle.

Tents already have passive intake. If they didn't the fan would not run properly

MaineCronic brings up an excellent point, make sure your ducting has the least amount of bends possible.

  8. Ok, I'm sorry for all the questions, but how wouldn't prevent light into my flower tent from the veg tent during the flowers dark period if its passive? Passive, if I'm wrong please correct should be twice a big as the outtake. Like if the outake it 6 inches, for passive to work correctly I would need 12 inches of open vents... But then light can get in

  9. Because if the tent is sealed up it would just collapse on itself from the negative pressure from the outtake... I'm just sort of confused. But I'm sure ill figure it out.

  10. I'm running 200 CFM fan exhaust, and a small 75 CFM fan for intake.

Light proof yes, air proof no.

You don't even need an intake port open... passive intake comes through the zipper and all the tiny seams.

My first grow I used only the exhaust fan with no problem.

  11. Right on thank you very much. No heat problems?

With my 400w HPS (not air cooled) and 2 40w CFLs, I could manage high 70's, low 80's, without my AC running. AC helps a lot. If you have a window AC put it in your growing room. It's getting colder and soon I'll be using a box fan in the window to get cool air fresh air into the room where my tent is.

Thank you, appropriate the advise. I just took the ac out a week ago and just have a window fan now
