Instead of mason jars...

  1. Would plastic containers ,with the insides cover in aluminum foil, and the lids with extra duct tape to keep it extra air tight work? I heard curing bud in straight tupperware is bad for the bud that actually touches the bud because the plastic slowly absorbs "oil" in the bud...well if you covered in foil (or another material???) would that be ok?Or am I better off just smoking it after I dry it lol .. (cant use mason jars!! :( )

  2. I do not recommend the plastic containers but some do it. Stay away from the foil in there. Wondering why you can not use mason jars? Don't let me see you type that they are too expensive, or can not be found. :devious:
Yes plastic absorbs the thc. How much? Not too much. But you can impart unwanted flavors. Plastic does breath and dry out the bud in the long run, I don't care how airtight it is. Glass is the best, ceramic is just as good imo, as long as there is a sealing rubber ring for the lid. Plastic is short term storage only.
I have had plenty of bud that i could smoke after drying. It did not "need" curing, but i bet the flavor would have been 10x in comparison, but smooth as smooth anyway. If grown properly and flushed and dried properly you should not have a harshness after drying or any unwanted starches, leaving you smokable product. Lengthy cures are "needed" for improperly harvested plants.

  3. I cant use mason jars because I dont have enough for the amount im harvesting lmao...
Would I be better off NOT curing them in plastic after I dry,or is plastic better than nothing? and is there any sort of liner i can put in the plastic to help?

    thanks

  4. you can find some really small jars bro..do not do that plastic idea...just get a small jar

  5. Personally, the person who introduced me to pot cures it, weighs it out, vacuum seals it and stores it in the freezer. He gave some that was 20 years old and it was better than anything I can buy.

He has seeds that are over 30 years old and still sprout after keeping them frozen...he claims the two worst thing for pot are heat and light. I've smoked a lot of different pot and never had anything like his still to this day.

  6. Save spaghetti jars. Wash w/bleach, rinse out really well and let dry. Bertolli's even have a rubber inset on the lid...
Eventually I'll buy a dozen mason jars... when I can fill them all.

  7. A dozen small mason jars at wal-mart cost $8.00 If ur stressing out or cant afford 8 dollars then it is time to re-think ur situation. Why go thru all the time and trouble it takes to grow a plant, then skimp out in the end. Just use glass, u will be much happier. Plastic sucks.

Or like fla^^^^ says "just use a spaghetti jar, or a pickle jar, or a jelly jar, or a ......... jar. You get the point.

  8. right..go ahead, put all your time and effort on the line to use plastic

    glass ftw all day 420

  9. I believe he was saying he has too much not too little lol...

  10. Dude if you are harvesting THAT much....SURELY you can afford some jars? You can get cases of them at the grocery store for a little bit of what you are harvesting...
