Insomnia - Help me Sleep!

  1. Hey all, I've been having crazy trouble sleeping lately. I work night shifts so I always have to sleep during the day. Also, I can't smoke weed or take any drugs as I am on probation.

    Its been going on for a few months now, not smoking is horrible and that's all I needed to fall asleep was one nice rip. now that I can't toke or anything, combined with night shifts its damn near impossible to sleep.
    Does anyone have any secret remedies or teas or some shit to help? I've tried melatonin and zzquill and neither helps at all. I've heard of Kava Root tea, but im skeptical as I read its bad for your liver, and I was born with a weak liver. I've tried excercising to drain my energy and that doesn't help much either. I can stay awake for close to 30 hours and not even be the slightest bit tired.

    im down to try just about anything as long as it won't show up in a weekly UA. I won't drink alcohol at all either so I don't really know what else to try. halp meee
     
  2. force yourself to watch the golf channel and actually listen to it with all your might, not the best timing cuz everone else on is having the same problem.

  6. I obviously can't smoke so indica will do me no good. hopefully someone knows something that'll help..

    :confused_2: yes it will, especially purp. i have indica probably 4/5 days out of the week, sativa the rest. when i have indica i sleep. sativa i don't so i smoke resin at night and im is a 3rd generation insomniac its in my dads family. it works better then any otc/scprit sleeping aids!

  8. Find some good tea. I suggest mugwort, but dont drink it too often. Just switch around looking up different herbs. You will fall asleep when your body needs it.
     
  9. read my first post and it says im on probation and have weekly ua's. I'd toke if I could but I can't at that rate lol

  11. haha yeah I can't wait to burn again. im probably just going to wait till im off probation to smoke again, I figure my tolerance will be low enough I should start hallucinating after one good dab

  13. I feel you there op.. Im on probation the next 3 years, thats why you see my ass on here at like 5 am
     
  14. I've tried melatonin, mass amounts and it literally doesn't affect me at all :(

    and three years? screw that man I thought I had it bad im only on it for a year. sorry to hear you're on papers that long man
     
  15. Melatonin. After years of insomnia even while smoking alot of indica dominant strains, I mentioned it to my doctor during a regular physical. I live in a non MMJ but I still told him I smoke so he prescribed melatonin. You could get it over the counter and if used as directed, it will help you get 8 hours rest.
    I stopped using it because I had too much to do every day and after years of being awake at least 20 hours a day, I felt like I was sleeping too much if I got 8 hours sleep.

  17. He said he couldn't smoke cause of probo but everyone is telling him to smoke hahaha.

    If all the things you listed don't help you already, there isn't much you can do. Try a meditation ritual that puts you in a relaxed state and rest your mind as best you can.

  19. I have a special technique I use when I can't sleep (which is pretty much every night). I get comfortable and try to empty mind of all thoughts. That can take a while, so I often have to tell myself "Okay, you don't need to think about all this stuff right now. There's plenty of time to think about it tomorrow." Then I focus on the inside of my eyelids and try to visualize something; it can be a place, an object, a design, whatever. Usually the images are very subtle and form on their own, and they quickly evolve into other images. After 10 - 20 minutes of this I usually fall asleep.
     
  20. honestly the only thing thats gonna help with your weed withdrawl is alcohol, I become an alcoholic when I begin my t breaks because sometimes its just too much, if it gets to the point of your up more than 2 days start drinking and youll sleep like a baby and it will also help block out your crazy dreams
