insomnia due to not smoking

  1. i honestly cant remember the last time i didnt smoke before bed...i dont think i even can, i have really bad insomnia to begin with and ever since i got in the habbit of ALWAYS smoking before bed its even worse. I dont have a problem with it besides the fact if i dont have bud to smoke before i sleep i get all stressed and my mind races causing me not to sleep. anyone else in my boat?
     
  2. dude, this is a really common problem. i think having no apetite when sober and trouble sleeping when sober are the 2 most common, negative things to do with sweet old mary jabe :(
     

  3. yep...i quit weed about a year ago ( iwanted to be a cop hahahahahahhahaha) and i didnt sleep right for an entire month, went to the doc, got prescribed lunesta, no dice, ambien, ehhh so so.....then he gave me xanax...
    if you truly do suffer from insomnia, i would try to stop smoking for a bit, or smoke less (ween urself off it if u dont wanna HAVE To smoke before bed)
    also avoid xanax, its addictive and not great for sleep (it knocks u out but its not for sleeping)

    you will wind up in ur late 20s like me turning down a euro trip with my buddies when i was 23 because i was so scared i wouldnt be able to sleep without bud....

    idk man its hard...but def go see a doc, see if the milder meds work (lunesta etc.)

    sleep deprivation is AWFUL....if i didnt smoke before bed tonight, id be up til 6am, then get tired, then get 2 hours of terrible sleep til 8am then im up.....

    For me I notice that after 3-4 days of having shitty sleep that I slowly begin to get sleepier until i find it easier to sleep, also I've tried sleep aids during this time and the only one to work is Alteril it's otc.

    Also I notice when I only smoke 3-4x a week I have no problems sleeping at all. Problems only arise when I smoke daily.
     
  5. i know that, im 20 and frequently turn down opportunities to go cool places because i have trouble sleeping in a bed thats not my own and not having bud. recipe for many sleepless nights

  12. right, i was surprised how well it actually works the first time i tried it. i only had it twice (both times baked) and it knocked me out once i laid down.
     
  13. Yeah man, there's a lot you can do to get to sleep, and feeding Big Pharma is the last thing I'd turn to.

    Also, this is funny, but masturbate before you sleep too. Orgasm releases a ton of neurotransmitters. That's why you feel sleepy after sex.

  18. You should only have that for ~a week or so after quitting, if you have racing thoughts and you aren't smoking marijuana regularly and have been away from it for at least a week or so, it's time to see the pdoc.

    Lol were you really under the impression weed would be hard to find in Europe? What would make you think that?

    Let me just second the motion for aerobic exercise, it will greatly mitigate your insomnia, which will dissipate in less than a week if you stop smoking.

    And stay away from the fucking doctor, whoever suggested he try sleeping pills should delete their account and never post here again. Tons of people use herb for pain etc. specifically to avoid taking pills that destroy your liver and were made by giant corporations who financially reward your doctor for prescribing you this shit.

    I mean if he should take sleeping pills, maybe you should just drink alcohol instead of smoking weed. You're already taking the government's authority cock if you think sleeping pills are a safe and effective method for dealing with insomnia, so might as well switch to legal intoxicants.
