Inside walls material options for grow room

  1. Hi,

I am building a small grow room 2x2m2 and the walls will be chipboard (insulated on the outside).

I am trying to keep costs down and wondering if there are alternatives to the reflective material (which seems expensive) for finishing the walls. I dont want to sacrifice plant growth etc.

Maybe, white glossy paint? white polystyrene tiles which I have used in my growbox and are quite cheap. I just dont know.

And quicky, should the ceiling be the same as the walls, and the floor is chipboard, is this ok as is?

    sorry so many questions

  2. Flat, bright white paint, paint it all white.

  3. Exactly flat bright white paint, cheap and easy and in the long run way easier to maintain than any of the other materials you hang on a wall.

  4. flat white paint.

flat paint reflects better then gloss or semi gloss..but I prefer to use semi gloss on area that will be cleaned often such as floors or walls in close proximity to plants.

glossy is much easier to keep clean then flat is.

  5. I built a cabinet that route and after all the research I found. The electamastic? roof coating is the most reflective. Plus it's water tight. I did the roof, walls, floor and don't worry as much as when water spills. In all. Spend the money. Do it right. Primer first or cost yourself twice as much.

  6. Just use Killz No Odor primer. Seals the surface, goes on thick, and it's a nice flat white. Then whenever you're ready to paint the walls another color, it's all ready to go. Ceiling and floor really don't matter too much. I would just go ahead and do the ceiling white as well though especially if you use paint.
