I've got a few bongs, my actual smoking implement collection has grown enough for now. I have all the Roors I need (and can afford) for now. I have decided that I need an attachment like a precooler or perc. This'll be going on my Roor.De that I'll post pictures of later. 18.8. After seeing a lot of the inline handblown pieces, I'm drawn to one of those because they look beautiful and it seems like everyone that gets one is very happy with it, both in performance and aesthetics. Question 1: Are there any downsides to an inline? Question 2: Can they be cleaned (if I put the time in) to look as new? Question 3: What does an inline cost, generally? I'd be looking for a nice, handblown one. Names like Luke Wilson and LEAR come to mind, both of those seem to represent the higher end, top-of-the-line sector of the market. I'm really not gonna buy one unless I have a guarantee of quality, which I think everyone will agree is the case with LW and LEAR, which brings us to my final question... Question 4: Are there any other competitors on the market that I should look at? Edit: Additional Question - Question 5: Are there any blowers or vendors that are disreputable either in product or service provided?
Look at Kind Creations aswell. Edit: They can be easily cleaned via GO or Simple Green with the common soak/rinse method. The only downside I can find is not holding the tube so that it pulls evenly but it's not much of an issue. As for the cost I'm not too familiar I think KC runs about mid 100s to upper 100s for their inline A/Cs.
Thank you for your help, man. I just sent an email to KC. Do you have any personal experience with inlines? How would you describe them as differing from like, a standard, single-downstemmed, bubbling ashcatcher? (Like something comparable in design to the ones that Roor makes)
I can't compare them to RooR seeing as I just don't have much experience with that company. In a bong I deff like it much better than your traditional downstem, however. Seems to give less drag and does a better job at cooling. As a A/C I'm pretty even with tree arms and inlines, I think the two are fairly equal as efficiency goes but the inline has a bit less drag. BTW the brands i smoke on most now are KC (Just got one), Illadelph, and Blue Dot.
I appreciate the advice and insight provided thus far. If anyone else willing to post has any more clues as to what the cost might be if I purchased from someone like LW or LEAR? I assume they're probably more expensive than KC... are they comparable in quality to KC? Or better? Basically, any informed perspectives and insight into inlines would be awesome. Thanks!
i got a luke wilson inline to 10 arm tree perc, and it comes with a disk diffused slide. it was $350 shipped. luke wilson knows how to make percs. hits very smooth and very little drag. alcohol and salt cleans it to look pretty much like new. only problem with it is compared to my roor the base is kinda narrow
So your $350 was for three items, an inline, a perced bong, and a slide? Tell me if I understood that correctly please. I think I got it, but I'm not sure. Oh well, hahah, just read this article: The Secret Cause of Flame Wars So I don't feel too bad about missing things occasionally.
lol LW and LEAR kill kind creations...Ive never hit a KC but from what Ive read they are pretty good but your not going to get quality glass like LW or LEAR. Ive got an LW Inline bubb that I love but unfortunantly its got to go. The only thing about inlines is unless its a fixed base like LW's bongs youve got to balance it to be straight to use all the diffusion slits right, but its very simple man. But inlines are def. one of the smoothest types of diffusion IMO.
Thanks guys! I appreciate it. I see an inline on this site: 19MM GOG RASTA STEMLESS INLINE ash cathcer There's no blower listed. Does this mean that their name is likely not a big/reputable one, and that it's not worth buying because it looks good and is a good deal? If I'm looking for a good product, is it a bad idea to snap up a deal when it isn't a recognized name like LEAR/LW or even KC?
just making sure you know that an ash catcher...not a bubbler man. Youd need to get a mouthpeice for that to use it as a bubb. Check your PMs man im about to pm you.
Yeah, if I hadn't made it clear, I'm looking for an ashcatcher to put on my Roor. Wow, I guess that I did not make that clear at all.
I would stick to official glass just to be safe. IMO if money isn't an issue LEAR/ LW are deff what you should aim for. Brandon's KC pieces are about on that level too from what I come to understand.
