an ice pinch bowl is a bowl that has pinches under the herb to hold it in place.
the artist pokes the glass inwards much like ice pinches appear in a bong.
this produces more than one hole for air to flow through.
this creates a more balanced vacuum of pressure under the herb, reducing the amount of times the herb is pulled through, or "snapped"
it also increases airflow so that the smoke is in the tube less, lessening the amount of thc, that would otherwise stick to the glass.
Less stale smoke is tasted with the hit.
