Hey, In the process of trying to keep a freshy watered smart pot warm I decided to inject air into the bottom of my smart pot. The pump pushes 38 L/min an the air is warm so I figured what the heck, it can't hurt ? I used to have all my plastic pots hold air stones and used an aquarium pump so this new pump is a lot better. It worked very well with a large 20 ga smart pot where I put a flexible air hose in the bottom and would just attach the air pump for an hr or so every day. That plant was a massive sativa Of course I can't say what was the one thing I did right since I tried a whole lot of great organic ideas gotten here at GC ! But today I just cut a hole in the 5 ga pot and shoved the tube in. It didn't clog or slow the flow unless I jammed it into the other side of the cloth. So does anybody else have experience with doing this or am I just as crazy as Baby Yaga ever thought about being? I want to thank everyone for all your help. The few searches I can find re injecting air into subsoil areas actually uses a slurry of water infused with air. Huh? I am not sure though how they got the venturi emmiters rigged to make a water slurry, but that one case showed high increases in fruit production. Then again I could be over doing it!? It is a chore to keep the plants watered enough and warm now that the cold is here. The pump pushes warm air so I figure it will probably help. Go ahead and laugh. I am! That 20 ga smart pot is great but just too big for my space. If these gals in 3 and 5 ga grow right I might repot a couple into the 20 ga since the air line is already installed.
