Inhibitions, what are they? Would our world be better if they were expressed?

What are they, have you ever actually wondered what they are and how they are caused? I think they are nothing more than a restraint on us due to the "outside world" and fear of being judged. How do you even classify an inhibition? Well here is how i would classify it, a thought or feeling you come with and think about saying it or expressing it but then you think about the "outside world" and you think about the opinions and judgments you may receive and most of these judgments are all in your head. Inhibitions in a way are actually good cause if we didn't have them then we would say whatever came to our thoughts right away, such as for me if i saw a beautiful girl i might say something like " You are really hot and i want to bang you so badly and go out with you and spend my life with you" Thats what i might say if inhibitions weren't there. But since i have inhibitions, i have a thought that might run through my head that would be something like this "But what if she thinks i'm weird and am trying to hard to get her or coming on to strong." Without knowing what she actually thinks or feels like, but hey its better to be safe than sorry. So what are inhibitions, are they our actual "selfs" true thought and being repressed by the ego? Would this world be better if all our inhibitions were spilled true, or would it be worse? What do you guys think?? Oh and by the way this thread area should be renamed to Spirituality, philosophy, and psychology theories. Why did i post this? I am not even for sure maybe to get this thought out of me so it wouldn't be an inhibition. So what do you guys think?
P.S. I ment to post this in the Spirituality/Philosophy section but oh well. Can someone move it to that thread area please, cause I don't know how?
