Indoor CFL Grow + New Hookah Bowl

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by thebitcheswer69, Feb 28, 2008.

  1. Started a small grow indoors about two weeks ago.
I've never grown indoors before so its pretty new to me. Last time I grew outside and it turned out pretty good soo...
I'm not even using a CFL yet, so right now their under a 65watt cool white spectrum bulb. I' starting to use LST so I can get the most out of the grow. The two small plants were started a lot later then the other three, and even on of the other three one of them started a few days before. The biggest one it about 16" tall, so I figure I'll wait another week or two before I switch to 12-12 for flowering, I'll change to a few CFLs at that time.

And I got a new bowl for my hookah, its a lot bigger the the previous one I had.

  2. You really should have read up on growing. You're doing almost everything wrong.

  3. You think you're almost ready to flower? Wow.

You can't grow MJ under incandescent lighting. Especially not 3 plants under 1 65w incandescent bulb. I assume that's what you're using, since you said you're not using CFL.

Those plants are very spindly and stretched for light.

You shouldn't grow more than 1 plant in a pot.

If you try to flower in a week you possibly could get a decent main cola but there won't be much secondary buddage to speak of. Get CFLs now and put the plants into separate pots. After a few days (to ensure they are recovered from transplanting) then start LST. Get the CFLs close, 1-2" from the plant.

  4. Listen guys, I know quite a bit about growing and I know that what I'm doing is not proper technique, however, I'm just doing this setup because I've never grown indoors and I felt like doing it at the time. Its nothing serious, trust me, I'm a pretty experienced grower, and the times that I have grown outside the plants came out great, yielded about 14.5 ounces from 9 or so plants. Besides the crawl space I'm growing in is freezing, I'd say about 54 degrees, so thats why the plants are stretching.
You guys have to understand that I'm just messing around because I can't grow outside. What ever nugget I get is just a bonus as I see is. Some of these seeds are from choice genetics, the tall one is the only seed from a batch of AfghanixHaze, Straight from Humboldt County. THe other two in that pot are from some beasters I had a little while ago. The other two are just high middies.

  5. Fine. I'm really sorry I offered you any advice.

If you weren't seeking advice I don't know why you posted here. My mistake, I thought that regardless of what experience you may have with outdoor growing, you said yourself you've never grown indoors, and you might want to know if there are ways to do an indoor grow any better than your instinct and knowledge have you doing right now. If you don't care that you're making simple mistakes that can be easily fixed, hey no problem, have fun.

BTW, plants don't stretch because of cold.

And, 1.5 oz per plant for an outdoor grow is, well, less than impressive.

  6. No man, you took it wrong, I'm thankful that your suggesting better ways to grow, and I appreciate it a lot. I will definatly use the pointer you've given me if I ever start a serious grow. This is just for fun thats why I'm not putting any effort into it, look at it as an experiment of sorts
Oh I did forget to mention that I stated the outdoor plants about half way through the summer, for the small height and bushyness of the plants, they yielded quite a bit. Thanks for that future help though man, sorry if I came off like I didn't appreciate it. peace

  7. Peace back at ya.

  8. Major stretching! Get that light like, four inches away from the plant!

  9. Just lowered the light, it is about 2" from the tops.

  10. thats close...i think you might burn em

  11. wow those little ones are in poor shape, please do them so service and get better light in there at least. ;)

  12. Their at about 3", no burning to speak of, I did have the same assumption.
CFLs will be installed tomorrow, as said this is just me fooling around, I know how to grow decently but this is just some seedlings I threw in the crawl space before I went out and got the CFLs, Nutes, etc. Besides, the space lets far to much cold air in, I have to give it a month at least before I start anything serious:smoke:
