Indica or Sativa for outdoor Canadian Grow?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by Ipirical, Feb 20, 2010.

  1. I am in Southern Canada, planning to start my first outdoor grow this spring.

What sort of things should I take into account when deciding on a strain?

Is Sativa or Indica preferable for this climate? Shorter or longer growing time?

    Cheers

  2. Since you are going to need to be worried about frost hitting your plants, a fast flowering, mainly sativa plant is what you are going to need to look for.

Anything else post here or shoot me a pm

  3. UMM NO. Fast flowering and Sativa do not go hand and hand. INDICA IS FAST FLOWERING. You clearly have no idea what your talking about.

  4. for sure. you always see most sativas taking 9-12weeks of flowering while indicas on the other hand are 8-9 weeks.

op, what are the temps like in the spring time where you're at. it'll be like anywhere from 50*-90*f here in the spring

  5. Ugh sorry about that... was responding to another post simultaneously and said one when I meant the other. FL has got it right. An indica dominant strain is what you are going to need to shoot for.

    Thanks for the correction jester.

  6. i wasn't trying to hate, i've mixed them up before as well. I was just stating it an a mean hateful way to make sure the OP understands what kind of seeds to order.

  7. Much love man. I would rather you say what you need to and make sure the OP doesn't go out and spend 100 dollars on seeds only to find out that his harvest will be due in mid-November and that he will be receiving a proverbial ass rape from frost.

  8. you could try something like NL X BB, anything fast flowering before the first frost

  9. Thanks a lot!
