Indica or Sativa?? Amber or Cloudy trichs... Latin binomial name

1. Hi everyone, first post on here but I have been reading for awhile. Searched a couple times about this topic but couldn't find anything useful. So here is a rant.

The scientific/latin words for Sativa and Indica mean something completely different than they do in the Marijuana World.
The same words in marijuana culture are mostly describing the characteristics of how a certain strain of cannabis grows
(Thin VS. Thick Leaves
Tall VS. Bushy
Fast VS. Slow Flowering)
The More north of the Equator the shorter/bushier/faster flowering (Indica high CBD)
The Equator or south of it Taller/Thinner/Slower Flowering (Sativa high THC)
OR the effects of the cannabis-
Up, Energetic, Athletic, Inspired, Creative, are some of the effects attributed to Sativas..
Down, Relaxed, Couch-Lock (ha) , Pain-Killing, are some of the effects attributed to Indicas..
YET!!
Sativa in normal culture means ANY plant that has been cultivated.
HERE ARE A FEW EXAMPLES:
C. sativa may refer to:

• Camelina sativa, the gold-of-pleasure or false flax, a flowering plant species native to Northern Europe and to Central Asia
• Cannabis sativa, an annual plant species
• Castanea sativa, the sweet chestnut, a tree species known for its edible seeds originally native to southeastern Europe and Asia Minor
Camelina Sativa: Flax - is a close relative to rapeseed that we modified through natural breeding ( like we do with medical strains of cannabis) to make Canola oil..
A. sativa may refer to:
The common oat (Avena sativa) is a species of cereal grain grown for its seed.
L. sativa may refer to:
(Lactuca sativa) Lettuce is a temperate annual or biennial plant of the daisy family Asteraceae. It is most often grown as a leaf vegetable. It is eaten either raw, notably in salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, tacos, and many other dishes.
Indica in normal culture means ANY plant from or near INDIA
Here are a FEW Examples:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A. indica may refer to:

• Acalypha indica, a plant species found throughout tropical Africa and South Africa, in India and Sri Lanka, as well as in Yemen
• Acemya indica, a tachinid fly species
• Acromantis indica, the Burmese Mantis, a praying mantis species found in Myanmar
• Amantis indica, a praying mantis species native to India
• Aristolochia indica, a creeper plant species found in Kerala in India and also in Sri Lanka
• Atuna indica, a plant species endemic to India
• Awasthiella indica, a fungus species
• Azadirachta indica, the neem, a tree species

Azadirachta Indica should be of particular interest to people on this site because it is sold in Hydroponic stores for $15-30 a bottle as an Insecticide, Miticide, and Fungicide. At Home Depot its about $8 a bottle for the same mixture, for a more effective mixture its $6 for a bottle of pure Neem Oil that is equivalent to the amount of at least 15 bottles of the $8 or $15 bottles of pre-mixed stuff at whatever store you want to get it from.

Anyways!!
Indica and Sativa in the Marijuana world ALSO describe the characteristics of its effects on us!
JUp or Down, left or right.. whatever.. It does stuff to us and we like it.. Most of it depends on how long the grower let it flower for and how they cured the final product. Not the strain as far as I can tell.
The strain does have A LOT to do with the consistency of the bud's look, smell, overall potency, and taste.. But the effects differ a lot on the same strain depending on what color the trichomes are when it is harvested..
Sour Diesel, for example, usually produces a lot hence it's a VERY popular strain. You can harvest it early and its got a VERY potent Sativan style high. It will wake you up in the morning like a cup of coffee, and you will feel like you have to go out and have a run or go skating to work it off (if you smoke enough).. Or you can wait and harvest it later when the trichomes are more orange and the same amount of smoke will make you fall asleep like an Indica. Although the taste and look is almost the same as the stuff you harvested earlier that crop that made you feel like a Sativa.
I have seen that Sour D strain plus many others like White Widow that are typically Sativas listed as Indicas strictly because of the effects of the final product. People even claim backcrossed genetics came out in the buds to make them more Indica when they look like they are from the exact same Sativa plant just harvested at different times, or from lower parts of the plant, parts that got various amounts of light.
Like Sour D is an Indica/// and Sour Diesel is a Hybrid //// and Super Sour Diesel is a Sativa….. When they are all from the same place originally.

PLUS the Latitude thing! California is on the same Latitude as Afghanistan. Most strains from around Mexico/California are considered Sativa right? Most Indicas are from India/Afghanistan or around there right? Yet they are on the same Latitudinal line! They get the same exact rays of sunlight and pretty much the same weather. Much more the same sun rays and weather than their relatives from farther South like South Africa and Jamaica ( Sativas/slow flowering ), or from the north like Russia ( Ruderalis/ Indicas/auto flowering/fast flowering.)

My point is Why is the knowledge base so fucking confused? Even when we speak the same language its not the same language.

And the Moral of the story is always smoke purple/black herb with orange crystals all over it, the Purple Pigment in plants is cyanidin glucoside and it helps with fighting lung cancer!!!!!!! Its in blueberry's and red onions if you don't believe me look it up, smoking purple herb has phytochemicals that fight lung cancer and any other inflammation.. Why do you think they named them fight-o, phyto?............ bad pun
