Charlie Chaplin has said it best and I find that people too often forget the big picture. We have the potential to make this world so much more beautiful, but we fight for it with guns and bombs instead of our hearts and minds. I dream of a time where we can live harmoniously, and see the good in each other as opposed to only looking for the bad. Just a little reminder from a man who saw our true potential, but instead we choose to squander it. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WibmcsEGLKo]The Greatest Speech Ever Made - YouTube[/ame]
wasnt that vid originally made as a PR op for the rise of hitler? lol good speech with a dark history/agenda.
Lolwut? Its from the Charlie Chaplin movie The Great Dictator, c'mon.....
Lol The great dictator that was made to look like hitler Love this speech anyway. It's inspirational to say the least
there used to be pro-nazi propaganda in the USA before FDR said fuck the nazi's. and i believe this film was made around that time, before the US was at war with germany.
Yes, I believe a spiritual awakening/evolution is in the making right now...it won't be an easy one, but we're on the right track. It REALLY IS a battle of good vs evil.
Right? And politicians like Gary Johnson are like super heroes almost cuz they don't benefit from anything they do they just do it cuz its the right thing to do.
Exactly, and people like GJ, Dr. Paul, Judge Nap, ect. support the values of peace and liberty, at the same time you have the destruction of humanity under the iron fist of the central banking cartel, guys like David Rockefeller, Lord Rothschild, the Morgan family, Kissinger, Bush family ect. These people are the "anti-humans". They literally stand for everything against humanity, and don't lose a fucking wink sleep over having murdered so many people over the last 99 years...I don't consider these people humans, because they are not "lost"...they are aware of what they do, and damn proud of it. I firmly believe they are very happy with that they do, and themselves, the reality they inhabit is much different than ours. There is so much symbolism in all of this, classic "good vs evil" scenario. I feel as if something very BIG is about to happen this year...or very soon.
Yes, but this film is not one of them. Chaplin made this film to attack and satirize Hitler's regime at a time when the majority of people were turning a blind eye to what was going on over there. Also, if you ever saw the movie then you'd understand why he's making that speech dressed up as Hitler... I highly doubt a leftist and anti-capitalist like Chaplin would ever support someone like Johnson....
He's not saying anything about Chaplin. He's referring to the liberty candidates as freedom fighters, modern day super hero figures. I'd call it an accurate comparison.
Yeah, I know, but since the main subject of the thread is Chaplin's speech I figure its relevant enough, if in a roundabout way perhaps. And I would consider it an extremely inaccurate comparison....
