Pre Covid never had problems with germination, past 4 purchases (2021-2023) from two different providers resulted in very poor results; small immature seeds. Very successful Indoor perpetual garden sense 2011, nothing has changed in my process.
were they all from the same seedbank pre and post covid? if not dont blame covid if they were though you might be on to something?
Valid question sosogrow, and to answer you, no. Prior to Covid all of my purchases were outside of USA/Canada, however, it is a fact that Covid effected every facet of the agricultural industry... A seed is a seed - were all creatures of habit so proven process would be consistent. We all know that Covid had a huge negative effect on labor, supply and logistics, so it's not difficult to image how Covid could have a negative impact on "quality" seed production, regardless of what that seed is. Peace.
I'd say you just got some smaller seeds and had some bad luck. You've proven you can grow some fine plants with what you've posted in the past. Good luck going forward @jd8611 .
Can't argue that TimJ... Just wanted to throw it out there to see if anyone else had similar experiences. Hope your 2024 grow(s) go as planned, and may you always have just enough - Peace.
Thanks Vee. Storing: I'm not preparing for an apocalypse, I grow what I buy and my process have stayed the same. If I get seeds in the winter I allow them to sit in room temps for a period of time. I have stratified harvested veggie seeds a couple times... Peace.
