I have a 600w cool tube and a 240cfm inline fan. When I acquire a carbon filter, do I just attach the inline to it ( the filter) while blowing air over the light and out the tent. (4x4x7)? Or do I need a separate fan for the exhaust from the carbon filter? Please help me I'm very bad at this. Thank you very much.
With a single fan many people go like this: Carbon Filter >>> Hood >>> Fan >>> Vent Passive intakes are most common in grow tents. No need to push air in and suck it out. Make sure that the filter is rated higher (the cfm's) than the fan otherwise it can pull air in too quickly and won't filter it properly. A speed controller for the fan comes in handy too.... for instance you might want to dial it back to decrease the noise if that's an issue.
