Hey, i have some bagseed and I think i'm gonna take a shot at growing. I pretty much need a walkthrough of everything, i already read a few guides though Im going to germinate them with the paper towel method and then place them in party cups with some probably regular walmart soil, or tomato grow soil if they have it. I will cover them with plastic wrap and make a few holes. I don't know whether to just leave them in a dark place or put light on them. (If so, what lights should I use?) Now, thats as far as my plan gets... I need help on deciding pretty much everything. Im thinking of using CFL's, but I don't know the wattage or anything my grow room for the first few days will be in a old cabnet with sliding wood doors. Height: 19 inches length: 22 inches Width: 15 inches How long will it be untill I need to move to a bigger room? Will I be ok putting them in a box in my florida room to grow (Outside enclosed patio) in the spring weather? (Detroit Michigan) I already have a timer that we use for christmas lights, I have the soil figured out, I think the only thing left to do is get lights, and maybe some fertilization. A few things i might want to point out are that I live with my mom and I don't thinks she'd be ok with me growing so it needs to be discreet, and my budget is around the $75 range. Thanks in advance for the help, im off to germinate my seeds
If your think CFLs, I would go and get a couple 26 watt cool white Cfls for veg. As for the soil, At my wal-mart they only have one decent soil out of about 30 choices. And that would Mircle Grow Organic Choice, its the only one without any nutes in it!
Does two soft white 26watt CFL's sound good for one plant? I found a perfect place to grow it, and this is the in rafters of my garage. I'm gonna make a box up there and I already have a ladder and everything set up as well as power. I have the light sockets, i'm taking two off of a science project from years and years ago. The only thing i'm unsure about is the smell, should I be ok just using a 9V computer fan as ventilation without a carbon filter or anything? I figure one plant wont stink my whole garage up very bad. Also, where should I get a digital meter that tells me temp. and humidity level, because I will deffinately need it because it may get hot up in the top of my garage.
well the ratio is 100w per plant so u could get away with 3 but 4 is the good amount it looks like you could put 2 8" pots in there but u wont need to worry with ferts till 4 weeks or so but i used this one it was cheap n very weak which i used for seedlings it was .02-.02-.02 it worked good n speeded up things a lil bit
