Okay, so im a new 'grower' it was basically just going to be an experiment to see if anything would actually happen. I planted the 4 germinated seeds (blueberry) on september 2nd. I have two floro desk lamps on them, and two of the biggers ones are 6 or so inches. The lighting was 18/6, then i had it on for lik2 22/2... now im back to 18/6. I dont know when i should switch it over to 12/12 tho. To start sexing. Like, i think i read somewhere that i can cover them with a black garabage bag during this phase. is that right? Now, i also am using a fertilizer on them, every 2-3 days... I spray them with water too every once and awhile (is this alright?), plus i have a fan on them for abit during the day too. Wow, nice green plants...they definitely look like Indica leaves too. I am not sure what you mean when you say you are going to sex with a garbage bag. Basically, you change the lighting to 12/12 to start flowering and in 10 days or so, you should see signs of sex. You then kill the males and let the fems keep growing. Good job so far !
I read somewhere that you could put a garbage bag on top or somthing, during the dark period, so no light gets in what so ever. And, should i sex all the plants now? That was another question. Or just the two big ones?
hmmm if they are over 3 weeks old, you could start flowering, some strains you can at two weeks for SOG. I guess you could get a light proof bag and cover one branch on each plant every day so it gets 12/12 while the rest of the plant gets 18/6 but I would just flower the whole plant cause I am unsure if problems may pop up when one branch is in flower and the rest of the plant is still in veg. Covering a branch every day seems like alot of work as you cannot miss a day. I would just flower both plants and hopefully in 10 days you will know the sex.
i may be a little slow, but what does SOG mean? (signs of gender...lol) Should i move the two that im not sexing into a differnt room? And also, in one of the pictures you can tell that one of them is completly chewed (due to my cat), will this one be alright? Or is it most likely to die? enough for me asking questions today
Hi xthatcherx welcome to GC The way I understand your question is that you dont have the plant in a box, just sitting there under the desk lamps like a windowsill grow? If this is the case, maybe think about putting the plant in a light-proof box (cardboard?) to get the total darkness for your 12hour instead of a binliner as humidty in a bin liner might be a problem, but dont quote me on that as I'm a total newB too, but I hope this helps
IMPO, you should do a bit (a lot) more research, read through plenty of threads on different boards and use your best judgment. Keep in mind that plants are alive, how would you make out through the night with a bag over your head??? Make a proper grow box (enclosure) keeping in mind that these plants will grow much larger. Also keep in mind that odor will be a factor to consider. We love the smell of canabliss but what about your neighbors or roomates etc. ??? Good luck and keep posting picts of your cronic buds.
I wouldn't put a bag over them, I think thats only if you want a plant to go hermie to make female seeds but thats a different story. Anyways, if you wanna sex them just put them on a 12/12 lighting cycle
okay, so im just going to sex all of them together. hopefully thats fine. and also, do they look small for being over a month old? like on oct 2nd, they were officially a month. I just look at all these other pictures, and they look huge for being like ginormous compared to mine. Or should i wait till they are bigger to sex?
