I'm a terrible grower :(

  1. My first grow, and just finished up vegging, switching to flowering, and all of a sudden i'm overwatering. I suppose I should've known that without all the vigorous growth they won't need as much water. Anyway, killed one about 1.5 weeks ago, and i think i just did it again.. sucks. The really sad part is, this one that looks ill now, she struggled so hard to grow in the first place. From gimp to tallest plant, and i may have killed her. :(

Don't trust soil moisture testers, they suck.

Let's all toke to the dead, to my failures, and to future successes.
    Thanks.

  2. Make sure there are plenty of drainage holes in the pot then only water if the soil is dry or teh plant starts to droop. When u wait for the soil to be completely dry or the plant starts to droop, the roots get soem extra oxygen and they start to grow out in search of water, this in turn makes the plant become stronger. also make sure you have plenty of lights, use CFLs if you are broke they work very well and better than tube fluorescents.

  3. I grew from b/s so they're all growing differently, so the water schedule got weird.. then i started to forget who was watered and who wasn't, so i got the soil tester which screwed me. the weird thing is, it's hard to tell the difference in the leaves between over and underwatered. right?

ps, is there any way to save an overwatered plant? hairdryer to the rootball or something?

  4. No worries... you are getting the hang of it I am sure! What kind of soil are you using? Maybe you need more 02 getting to the roots - is the soil cut with perilite or vermeculite?

  5. Oh man, moisture/pH testers...don't go there!!!!!!!!!! Got one from B&Q and it is absolute shite. I was trying to get a better pH using pH Down and my pH tester wasn't registering much of anything. I thought I had it right, watered and burnt the fuck out of two of my plants. I uprooted one and completely changed the soil, but that one looks really doomed. The other I flushed like mad and it's very ill but looks like it might survive.

Oh you live and learn. I really didn't think I would do anything that silly because I have read so much on here and am still reading. So look, chin up Bud, try again and learn from the mistakes. The harder you try and the more attention you give your plants the worse the consequences can be (referring to over watering and over ferting...oh, and adjusting the pH so it like virtually MICROWAVES your plants).

  6. Ive killed almost a half-dozen and im JUST starting to get the hang of everything! If you've only killed one im jealous! Keep up the good work!

  7. those dont look dead to me. just keep letting them grow. might end up with some funky buds

  8. why do you have so many in one pot, unless your doing LST, I can't tell.

  9. Im not quite sure how you overwater more than once and and kill more than one plant this way...I have never killed a plant. The key to not overwater is mix your soil with perlite about 1/4 ratio. and wait until the soil is dry before you water again. Its not that difficult. If you are waiting till the soil is completly dry...obviosly overwatering your problem. Just keep tryin man you will get it. Also try waiting till the leaves on your plants are droopy before you water again...that will insure that you arnt overwatering and will help with root growth. Good luck!

  10. Vicious: Yeah man the LST bondage on those plants is extreme!! Just one plant per pot I assure you. They are low, tight plants because they are Indica.

The ones I hurt are still alive. The one that went so horribly light green is still that colour but is perking up...not sure about the other one, but I reckon it's still alive. I took all the LST pegs out of the ill plants because it felt like the right thing to do.

I'll update the journal soon :hello:
