What 3 albums would you most like to have with you? This is hard for me to narrow down because there's so much music I can listen to depending on how I'm feeling. In no particular order - Radiohead- Kid A [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1T1M1tmUbq4]Radiohead - Kid A [Full Album] - YouTube[/ame] - John Coltrane - A Love Supreme [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chiB4Mfki7s]John Coltrane - A Love Supreme [Full Album] - YouTube[/ame] - Gil Scott Heron - Pieces Of A Man [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnJFhuOWgXg]Gil Scott Heron - The Revolution Will Not Be Televised - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtzlFO19m3k]Gil Scott Heron - Home Is Where The Hatred Is - YouTube[/ame]
Too hard to pick: A QOTSA album, A kayne album, And an album from modest mouse, smashing pumpkins, or pink floyd.
3 is so limiting so I am going to do the first 3 that come to mind: First, D'Angelo - Voodoo album. I will forever and always drop my panties on the spot upon hearing it. Fiona Apple - Tidal. This album made me realize I wanted to be a poet. ....drawing a blank....I'll be back....
Hahahah changed my answer. I kind of want to put illmatic back on it. Oh well. Hopefully I never have to make that choice.
Jedi Mind Tricks - "Servants in Heaven, Kings in Hell" (best underground Hip-Hop album from the best underground group imo) Yngwie Malmsteen - "Perpetual Flame" (greatest guitarist imo) Nas - "The Lost Tapes" or Eminem - "Recovery" (both personal favorite & great Hip-Hop albums)
Cant agree with yangwie being the greatest but its ok we all got opinions. I'd have to add Late Registration by Kanye and maybe 808's and heartbreak.
That's an interesting pick. 808's and heartbreak. Can I ask why? I'd probably go with the unholy terror and like mm lp or ss lp.
good choices, I like "The Unholy Terror" but it's too much battle rap for me. i get tired after the first week of listening to it. On "SIH,KIH" we really got to see Vinnie's growth as an artist and he wrote about other things like his family, the Vietnam War, suicide, child slave labor, and religion amongst other things. it's a much more in depth and introspective album. same with Eminem, we got to see how he overcame his drug addiction and Slim Shady persona on "Recovery", but "MM" and "SS" were classics no doubt. "Stan" and "The Way I Am" is my shit. + "Rock Bottom" too.
ahh I dont know. I heard it at the perfect time going through a breakup with someone I really was in love with which happened in the heart of the winter and she just dissapeared and left off to california on the other side of the country from where we were without saying a word. Alot of people see it as Kanye's worst album but it's a serious portrayal of deep feelings. It's just different. You can tell he was going through something with it.
That's true. I just don't care for the autotune. I don't respect kayne any less for it. He still makes great music. Edit: Lets get some more posts in here. And not related to this thread at all but.....
well not all the songs on that album are in autotune but I agree i'm not a big fan of autotune either. But it sounded like he was going for some robotic theme with that
This is a tough one. If we're limited to three... 1) The Stooges - "Funhouse" 2) Joy Division - "Unknown Pleasures" 3) Various artists - "The Anthology Of American Folk Music" Ask me again in an hour though and I'll likely say something different.
Phish- Junta The Mars Volta- Frances the Mute And a Curren$y album, either Pilot Talk or Verde Terrace can't decide which to choose.
