Here is my situation: I graduate from college in early May and am going to start an internship. The internship is going to be 3 months long and they may or may not require a drug test (I am going to find out soon if I need a drug test or not). I stopped smoking today just to be safe just in case I need a drug test for the internship. I haven't been smoking very long (only a couple months) but so far I enjoy it more than alcohol and would really like to keep smoking. I'm supposed to find out in early April if I'm going to need a drug test or not. I would really love to smoke weed on 420 because all of my friends are going to, but I figured worst case scenario I can just drink instead. Best case scenario would be that I find out in April that I don't need the drug test (most places don't seem to care to drug test for an internship). I just want some opinions on whether or not I should smoke on 420 if I find out I don't need the drug test. I'm probably being too paranoid about this shit but I really don't want to take any risks considering I've been going to school for 5 years. I figure that if I don't need a drug test for the internship then they'll probably require one pre-employment after the 3 months are up if they decide to hire me, but this would give me time to get clean again. Before today I've been smoking about twice a week. I'm a fairly skinny female with a pretty good metabolism. I was also thinking about buying a bunch of dollar store drug tests to see how long it takes the weed to leave my system, but I'm not sure if they are accurate or not.
Those tests do work but you can just get a small travelsize container from the store and ask a friend for a sample, then put it in your underwear (sorry to be graphic, but literally in your underwear). The day of the test wear like a skirt and tights and no one will suspect anything. Drug testing places make you leave everything in a small locker outside or even inside the restroom, then they lock it, take key to ensure you can't take anything out, but then let you give your sample. I've done this twice. Try contacting them now to email you a company policy booklet so you can be "informed about company procedures and regulations before the start of my internship" that way you're being super responsible about your program and you can check out their policy regarding drug testing their employees. you can also contact HR dept after you review the booklet and there is testing but if it doesn't clarify "interns as well" just come up with two other questions to ask. Then mention about being on a medication but you will be off of it before the start of your internship, if they ask, just say sorry I'd rather not discuss it, it's rather embarrassing... I don't really have any friends that would have clean urine. I was thinking about buying some quick fix but I have read a few stories where it doesn't work. Getting a company policy booklet is a good idea so I might try to do that.
Don't smoke weed until you're like.. 1 month into your internship. It's just not worth it... why go through all the paranoia and worries when you can just have a good time instead? Just drink beer. It's what I do when I run out of weed.
if I were me, I'd choose career over recreational fun. luckily I chose one that doesn't drug test, the industry would crumble if they did haha! but I've had other office warehouse type jobs that drug tested.
It would be a laboratory job- I've done some research and most people who work in laboratories say that they don't get randomly tested ever unless there's suspicion. Fortunately for me, I'm the kind of person you would look at and never suspect of smoking weed. I definitely could pull off the "square" look if I needed to.
start a little weed savings while you're not smoking. When I did 3 years probation, i couldn't smoke or drink (still drank as it doesn't stay in system very long). I saved quite a bit of money in that 3 years. Few months would be easy.
