    Hi! Question. I couldn’t find anything online to tell me about this, so please share a site if you know of one.

    If you fail a pre employment drug test for a new job, can that employer notify the current company you work for and tell them?

    My thought is “no”, but I couldn’t locate anything that supports that thought.

    Well, anyone can do anything, but...

    As a previous employer; no.
    Giving out that information leaves
    Human Resources open for a sure-lose lawsuit.

    I give drug tests and know several other people whose job entails giving tests. I've never heard of anyone doing anything like that. I would think there would be legal issues if they had.
