It will keep stretching for the right colour of light/spectrum. It shouldn't die if you feed and water it.
My first grow about 4 years ago was grown with 1 40 watt 4 foot fluorescent bulb. I grew 3 plants under it and they grew just fine. They grew alot slower and my yields were lacking but in my experience plants will grow with ANY light but you may not like the outcome if you don't invest a little into it. Dish out a hundred bucks and get an hps light with a horticulture bulb. Wouldn't you spend about that on a half - full O anyways? It's well worth it.
i have recently grew a plant from start to harvest using just a 200w blue spectrum cfl which i only intended to veg with. It worked fine. I have read in soooo many places it MUST be red spectrum for budding, these are lies.
