    If you're collecting unemployment every 2 weeks, How much of the taxpayer's money do you spend on weed and/or cigarettes in 2 weeks?

    honestly none. when i was in that situation the help i got was used properly. (their is actually ppl that don't abuse the help). to get my cigs and weed i did stuff i can't talk about on here.

    But i've been in pretty low places, and i did what i had to do to get back out. Without things like food stamps and fuel assistance i'm not sure where i'd be right now. I'm sure i would of still made it, but it would of been a lot harder.

    I've tried to get it a few times but everytime i fill it out online it says I have to call to complete it. I hate being on the phone and I'm not sure If i would even qualify so I don't bother.

    All the dude is sayin is that when he was getting assistance he wasnt blowing the money he got on weed and other stupid shit, he used what he did wisely...I can't say I'd do the same but honestly good for him because just about everyone I know on welfare uses it for one form of drug or another, or alcohol.

    I'd like to clarify some things that are important here.

    There's a world of difference between welfare (like food stamps) and unemployment.

    Most people have something deducted from their check known as SDI - State Disability and Unemployment Insurance

    So, if the OP is truly referring to unemployment, then guess what genius, it's your money. It's a fund that we all collectively pay into, some will use it, other's wont, but there's no shame in taking and using unemployment - if you've been working on the books, you've been paying in to your insurance.
