If cannabis was legalized?

18 to buy it legally, but we all know it'd be like cigs and the kids would get ahold of it one way or another.

you have to show the youth that it is NOT has harmful as tobacco and alcohol, if its 18 then kids will think it is more harmful that tobacco which is complete and utter bullshit!!! if its the same as alcohol (in the UK) then its saying its as bad which is also bullshit!

 

18 is a fair age to decide when to put damaging substances into your body.

I know you're all going to want to argue it. I too did smoke far before i was 18, because when i was young i was far more intelligent than other people my age, i could weigh the risks and repercussions, but ALOT of people under 18 can't.

Besides.. if it was legalized, the smart kids would figure out a way to get it

Id say 16, the same as cigarrettes here in the Uk. It would give kids the choice..ganja or tobacco. Im sure I know which would be more popular.

 

well, in the US the age would be 18 or 21... not because it should be, just because the gov't are assholes and don't realize that prohibition whether complete or age based doesn't work. we need to get our heads outta our asses and look towards the europeans as examples. if kids grew up drinking a glass of wine at family gatherings, there wouldn't be nearly as many kids getting so fucked up once they hit highschool.

18...a young brain can take quite some damage from smoking...psychologically speaking...whereas an older brain is less affected...

 

But then again, many people start smoking ganja around that age anyway. I started at 15, and most other people I know who smoke, started from around 14 to 16.

At the age of 18, some people have already quit, but theres not many here who are just starting.

 

If it was legal it would def be 21, or w/e you are it would be the same as drinking

 

I started smoking end of last year, now i smoke everyday, it would be 21 in the us i'm sure, which is stupid, they can draft us to a war and we can die but we can't legally get drunk? thats bullshit. Should be 18

 

After Vietnam they lowered the drinking age because of that same argument "You can draft us and make us fight overseas but we can't drink alcohol at home."

So the drinking age was lowered to 18 and alcohol related fatalities went up rapidly. To combat this the government raised it up to 19 and the fatalities went down, but not to a acceptable level. They ended up raising it back to 21 and it is still like that to this day.

 

if it were legal it would definetly be 18 no brainer

 

i voted 16 but now that i think of it by law they would probably make it 18 just to avoid a bunch of anal parents breathing down their neck, meh i was 16 when i first toked, nvr tried cigarettes.
