There's technically more than 1 definition of sound. sound noun 1.the sensation produced by stimulation of the organs of hearing by vibrations transmitted through the air or other medium. 2.mechanical vibrations transmitted through an elastic medium, traveling in air at a speed of approximately 1087 feet (331 meters) per second at sea level. In sense of definition #1 no it wouldn't make a sound because there would be nothing around to perceive the waves and interpret it as sound. On the other hand definition #2 yes it would make a sound.
if you were there then you would here the loud BOOM and all the branches smashing when it hits the ground , so yes it does make a sound
