If a plant turns out to be male how would I..

    I'm growing in a Bubble bucket and the roots from all the plants are tangled together. If one plant turns out to be male how would i go about taking it out or killing it?

    If i just chop the stem off will the dead roots have an adverse affect on the living roots?
