Idol worship

  1. Not worshipping an idol is a very advanced teaching. You MUST worship some form of God at first. The lack of an idol comes when one achieves Samadhi/Gnosis, where they experience the formless God, the pure consciousness that is everything. But until then, you need an image of God to direct your worship to. This man explains it well, he is one of the very few legitimate Masters who are publically available. My Teachers talk on the phone with him about once a year, and were (are still) listed on his site as legitimate Kriya teachers, though they do not teach the Kriya (well, to a select few individuals who would benefit specifically from it they've taught it, as there is no "one size fits all" system of spiritual evolution, some need different things)

  2. After thinking about it, I think having an idol is a good source of motivation with the right mindset. Setting the bar high, ya know? Worship is another story though..

  3. Biblical literalism is the worst form of idolatry IMHO...
