California agency recommends major overhaul to state’s marijuana taxes can we fire all of these clowns? they're failing worse than i ever imagined.
“Currently available information suggests that a potency-based tax in the range of $0.006 to $0.009 per milligram of THC could be appropriate,” the report concluded. hahahahahaha they want everyone to buy the boof they're pitching hahahahahahaha i am done with this clown show
Herb that sells for ridicules prices sits on shop shelves turning stale. In S.F., I have to wade thru the Imported Homeless to get to some shops. The Guv is a Poster Boy for the Elite! Wake up America. Evil wants our Weed.
Clowns are running your state and most of the voters are fools for voting them into office so I don't think it's possible to fire the clowns. California is fucked, just accept it.
Totally. Please don't move here. It's horrible. Under 4% unemployment, a $12 billion state budget surplus, and our state has finally rid itself of the multinational abomination that the Republican Party has become since Nixon. Stay away! Our legislature gets carried away on some issues, but I'll gladly trade a governor's heavy veto pen for relentless poor bashing, abortion rights restrictions, gay bashing marriage laws and the rest of the RNC's agenda from the 16th Century.
Poor bashing? I guess you haven't heard about commiefornia cops taking down homeless people's tents? San Francisco's streets littered with used needles and literal shit. Murdering a baby because you got knocked up isn't a right. Gay pride parades in front of kids and trying to normalize transgenderism and warped views of gender to children like liberals do is disgusting and evil. It's basically illegal to defend yourself, forget about the 2nd amendment. You let illegals in in droves and call people racist for wanting to enforce our immigration laws. Housing is insanely expensive. Sane people don't want to live there. We actually hope you secede or break off the continent and float away.
Well, aborting an unwanted pregnancy is an established right in our country. A fetus legally becomes a baby at birth, at least outside Kansas. Blobs of cells within women's bodies have no rights. It would be nice to bestow rights on these blobs of cells, but any rights assigned necessarily infringe on the rights of women to control their own bodies. Two rightsholders cannot exist in the same physical body, and nobody including and especially our government has the right to dictate to any woman that she must endure the pains and sacrifices (and costs) of pregnancy and childbirth, let alone all women. Stop being such a flipping hypocrite. Are fetuses human and alive? Certainly. So are human sperm. So next time you whack off, please bemoan the countless millions of poor helpless little sperm murdered for no good reason other than your pleasure. For any chance of moral consistency to exist we must also ban male masturbation. And I'd love to see it proposed, just to see how many men are willing to accept the exact same "it's human and therefore sacred" imposition of government into their own bodies. Did you know, Islamic courts justify hand amputation for convicted masturbators by this exact same logic. I'll let your homophobic rant speak for itself, other than to say a half century of research has not shown any detrimental effects on kids from exposure to gay people. Repulsion to it is a learned response not a natural one. Turns out the natural response to homosexuality is neutral since it amounts to nothing more than physical expression of self-love. The "ick response" is taught to us by our families, friends and religons etc and is ingrained in children from a very early age. But absent this indoctrinated bigotry no such response is seen. Think about it.
lol California pissed they have so much cbd weed they cant get rid of it and try and monopolize cannabis sales for the democratic republic of california by taxing high thc will get ppl to go to crap hemp. its sad seeing big business try and take over a grassroots business
The response to Prop 215 was 80% of our counties restricting and in many cases banning cannabis sales. Welcome to the real world. My point is, state voters can pass whatever they wish, implementation of those wishes by our counties is an infinitely tougher and more complicated task. It will likely take decades not years to settle taxes, regulations etc just as it did with our liquor industry. Taxing based on potency is nothing new, e.g. different sets of rules and costs apply for beer/wine and hard liquor licenses etc. Grow up. The actual question is, should CBD companies be charged the same taxes as THC companies, imo there are more than one very good arguments for no.
California is known to have high tax rates, but wow did they come hard with the taxes on weed. Black market is thriving. I don’t want to bash the state I live in too much though.....I just try to take it one day at a time. I read sorties of people how live in non recreational states, and how it costs an arm and a leg for herb... but yea, that proposed bill is ridiculous as it aims to make good weed available only for the wealthy. Imo
Legalizing anything automatically creates a much larger group of illegal things. Nature of the beast and again it's due to the myriad actual logistical problems of legalization, most of which our counties are bearing the weight of. Correction of our federal cannabis law would go a long way toward solving many problems our states are having.
I get that 100% it is the way they are making it seem to the general public through propaganda that it is still worse then alcohol and can't be advertised also with all these draconian laws about being able to pull up to someones house 1 hour after they got home and demand a sobriety test. it is just a grab for human rights and freedoms to be owned by the state that you fund with exorbitant amount of taxes middle class workers pay to get rights taken away by a government more worried about social media SJW campaigns then the health of veterans and the elderly who are systematically abused in a system that based off their propaganda campaigns you would think these people get first help, but nope it is big business and the agenda to go along with globalization.
In the beginning during Prop 215, it was entirely disputable if cities could even ban shops period. Thanks to the court ruling from that corrupt sarcastic stupid judge, they allowed cities to ban the operations but there was no way they could criminally penalize them, just civil enforcement under zoning / nuisance laws. Now they will gladly throw the book at you, fine you, and charge you with other fun stuff they used to not get away with like Maintaining place for sales (felony), conspiring to commit a felony, firearm enhancements (felony). They often do not throw the book like this at even meth dealers. You'll end up being charged with 5 or 6 crimes just for growing and selling pot unlicensed if you're very unlucky. Good luck enjoying smoking a joint in downtown San Diego or anywhere outside your house. Now they give you a higher fine, and I was lucky enough to finish my blunt outside a bar on a saturday night minute before a horde of vice cops on bikes show up and start screaming YOU CANT SMOKE WEED HERE TURN AROUND AND PLACE YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK NOW! and aggressively detain these people smoking next to me face down on the ground for an hour when there's tons of homeless using heroin and meth on the streets nearby. Corruption is an understatement. Fuck the law.
Oh yeah good luck convincing these towns to change their opinions on licenses. Most are in the League of Cities, whom are in bed with the California Narcotics Officer Association. The only reason some big cities allow it is because it would be crazy for them to ban it all in a giant metro / semi-ghetto area and it's highly restricted anyway
Bro, wow. That sucks. I’m sure they get a lot more smoking in public violations, but that’s pretty aggressive right there. True, there are way worse drugs that the officer can focus on but, those aren’t out in the open and as noticeable as someone smoking a j. I think it’s ironic that a bar can serve alcohol to people who more than likely drove to the place, but we can’t have a place to come together and smoke. That cop definitely didn’t need to do all that. It’s all about the person behind the badge.
They're selling all this over-taxed weed, where taxes are going to the cops instead of schools and roads, to people with no place to smoke outside of their home which landlords can still say no. When you decide to smoke in an area where it's expected you would want to smoke pot, like a bar, you're manhandled. That's what I've gathered with this dumbass law.
