Idiot newspaper title

Discussion in 'Marijuana Legalization' started by bto4, Nov 29, 2011.

  1. So my local newspaper did an article about the dangers of synthetic smokes . This shit is dangerous I agree. But they titled it "Legal doesn't mean safe"

    Fucking blind IDIOTS?!

Wouldn't that also be saying illegal doesnt mean dangerous

    WAKE UP

  2. The title is true. The fact "spice" is legal does not mean its safe. Also something being illegal also does not mean it is dangerous. I don't really see a problem with it.

  3. Did they say weed was dangerous? If not, I see no problem.

  4. i agree, "synthetic smokes" are not safe.

i dont get it, whats wrong here?

  5. I believe, when used properly and in moderation, that they are no more dangerous than marijuana on the whole. Since there are many 100's of varieties of synths, safety profiles will vary. The biggest risk has always been in properly dosing something so potent. The second biggest risk is in consuming synth blends that do not fully disclose their ingredients or potency. I personally wish that they had never been hijacked from legitimate researchers for recreational purposes. This really ruined a lot of solid clinical research.

  6. Like I said , I agree that they are dangerous. And kids who smoke them every day can fuck themselves up by Just one time. But they went on to say they are "no safer than marijuana" and they don't know one person who does heroin or cocaine who didn't start with marijuana. BULLSHIT

  7. How is there anything wrong with that title?

You should of provided us with the article. They do sound ignorant as to the rest of their article. Strictly pertaining to the title though, they're pretty spot on.

"Legal isn't safe" is a very true statement.

    Pain killers
    Alcohol
    Tobacco
    Fast Food
    Video Games
    Pornography

All legal, and yet they can all "ruin" lives when the user doesn't care for moderation and control. Don't get me wrong, I love all of the things I listed. Everybody should be free to use them, but that doesn't mean they're safe. That's beside the point though.

Fact is legality doesn't mean safe or dangerous necessarily. It's up to the user /s to determine that. Which is why we should truly be free, and persecute the perpetrators. Clearly we need boundaries, but the current rules of our "free society" are absurd, and have been proven time and time again as ineffective means to keep us "safe".

    Not to mention the hypocrisy.

  8. They're right, Datura is legal and it's dangerous as hell.
It's a pity they didn't take their logic that little bit further though and point out that illegal doesn't necessarily mean dangerous.

    Thank you someone who understands

  10. Really though, that's like saying that they don't know one person who smokes marijuana that didn't start with alcohol. It's simply more available to the younger crowd so, while being true, it's an abjectly false and faulty generalization. They could just as easily say that they don't know a single person who smokes crack that didn't start with caffeine. Likely true, functionally and applicably useless.
