I'm curious to know what the forum thinks is the ideal time during flowering to pollinate a branch for seed. Thanks, GYE
takes about 4 weeks for the seeds to devolop to maturity so anytime when you have 4 weeks plus before harvest
I concur with Valley... Pollinate approximately 4 weeks before harvest. Same advice I've seen from everyone anytime this question comes up. Personally I'm looking forward to doing it myself one of these days
Ya it's surprisingly not that hard if you can have a completely separate space or can guerrilla grow a male somewhere. Then just go harvest the pollen by shaking it over a mirror or piece of glass, then scraping it up like hash and saving it in a cool dry place. Once you're ready for some seeds, you put a tiny bit on a branch and you'll get some seeds and sensimillia. I've heard of pollen staying good for about a year. You just need to be really careful about cross-contaminating everything with pollen :/ Lot harder to control seeds once that happens. I've also heard it's possible to just pinch off the male sacs and save those in a similar fashion.
Thanks so much. I couldn't find the answer to this anywhere, even in the Cannabis Bible. I am down to my last plant, which turned out female, and have no seeds for the Future. I am tempted to try and either: A) Take a cutting from my flowering female or B) Re-vegging the whole plant after harvest and then revegging and cloning. But I think the safest bet for me at the moment is to get a couple buds to go to seed. Thanks guys!
