I am at a stand still. i couldnt find 6500k T12 bulbs anywhere in my local hardware store. All i got is two cool white bulbs that came with the fixture... I need some information regarding T12 bulbs and germing. What is the ideal spectrem of light for germing my babies and also what color / spectrem light should i use for my t12 4foot fixture... I am goin to be starting 20 seeds in keg cups... after that swtichin to a 400w mh light.. I just need to kno what type of bulbs to pick up tomorrow when i head to walmart.. To anyone willing to help +rep. thank you..
If i am not mistaken the "Cool White" bulbs that you have are 6500K and that is the best to be germinating under. Also there are T8 bulbs that emit the same if not more lumens than T12 but use less power. I believe T12 are of the old veriety. Wal-Mart has them for sure(I know cause that is where I got them). You should only need a few since you will be using a MH. Hope this helps.
sorry if i didnt give clear info man, i am using them for just the first 2 weeks of germing my plants because im afraid the 400w will be too much. Do you use cool white bulbs for germing? And does anyone know if cool white is 6500k? THAT WOULD BE A RIOT. here i am lookin all around for 6500k bulbs and i have some... gahh
So I made a slight mistake. The bulbs you have are at or around 4100K. The "COOLER WHITE" bulbs at Wal-Mart are the ones you are looking for. Hopefully this clears things up. I apologize for the mistake
Thank you john, and incognito, its allrite bro we all make mistakes haha. atliest you put the effort in and did some researching for me i appreciate that man. im going to use the 4100k bulbs for this grow, by next grow i will upgrade my lights to the (Cooler White) bulbs. Thanks guys.
