Ideal hempy container shape

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Growing' started by integrajosh, Jun 13, 2018.

  1. Hey guys, was considering using 2 of these for my hempy containers on my next grow. Due to the fact that they sit so low, would be perfect for my tent. Any input is appreciated! Thanks in advance[IMG]

  2. Too shallow I think

  3. Hmm, that's too bad. I do have room for 5 gallon buckets, was just curious about these.

  4. Anybody had first hand experience using something with similar dimensions?

  5. That May work with something like dwc or ppk . It can work as a hempy maybe but plant would need support and how deep will you make the reservoir for this hempy. 1 inch? Which leaves 5 inches of depth for the roots . Just saying

  6. You're absolutely right, but width doesn't play a part in the reservoir size at all? These are 17" wide, a normal 5 gallon bucket is 10" at the bottom

  7. I'm running scrog also, if that means anything. So the plant shouldn't need supported at all

  8. That would be the support . It can work just not sure if it is optimal.

  9. It is more of where would the roots have space to go. Think about it would you use a 5 inch deep soil container? To grow a plant in to a large size. ? Think not so if it were about twice as deep I would say for sure .

  10. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. Guess I'll just stick with the tried-and-true 5 gallon bucket, lol

  11. An ice cooler can work I think . It is deep enough.

  14. I've used small plastic trash cans and paint mixing buckets.
