so i have seen grow reports of ice with a purple pheno. now my question is if neither of my f1 plants have that pheno present is it possible for the f2 to show it? i only ask this because ive heard the f2 show many different traits

  2. If your F1 contains the ressecive genes for it yes it's very possible F2's from your ice may result in what your looking for , if it exists.:D

  3. it surely exists ive seen grow reports of purple ice, widow, rhino, from nirvana. i hear nirvana uses a purple skunk to help stablize the strains which makes for a rare purple pheno :hello:

  4. the pheno probably is really rare...the perctage is probably less than 5 percent out of a 100...

  5. with any unique phenotype, it is more likely 1/1000. I have grown several versions of Ice, and have seen numerous grows of Ice. The only ones I ever seen turn purple were ones which were subjected to low temps during the last few weeks of flowering. Colors are nothing more than bag appeal, it has nothing to do with potency and/or yield.

  6. it may be 1/1000 but it is pretty:D

  7. i always thought ice was always purple because the one time i smoked ice it was 'purple ice' it had desirable apearance and strong

  8. oh man please breed the purple one.

a stable purple ice pheno would be amazing:hello:

well ive grown the ice strain from marijuana-seeds.nl and i must say that that is an amazing plant and bud ( atleast for me anyway lol) and out of three ice plants, i only had one with purple buds, and i must say that i was never able to smoke those huge dense buds from the second or third plant because the police arrested me my dad and my bro unlawfully, long story short they got trashed in the sun newspaper and dismissed the whole case same day, 4 months after they held my dad in custody. but i must say its a heavy yielding strain and the purple i got was in a 1:3 ratio (1 being the purple ) if that helps

ive also recently picked up a grape ice from the dispensary

  10. i was looking into a company that had reworked a strain they called new ice and the worked a blueberry crossin the project . the strain is a white widow x skunk primarily with a dash of blueberry worked in .

If non of the F1 generation plants showed purple it is still possible for the F2 generation to be homozygous recessive to reveal a purple phenotype.
This is possible is if one parent was homozygous dominant and the other homozygous recessive.
    for example:
    parents: AA x aa
F1 Gen: Aa Aa Aa Aa
F2 Gen: AA Aa Aa aa

[1/4 of the F2 gen showing aa means there's a %25 chance of showing your desired phenotype (purple) but this is only the case if one of the original parents was homozygous recessive to begin with]

Edit: if one parent was heterozygous (Aa) and the other homozygous dominant (AA) there will be a
small chance of a purple phenotype. If Both of the original parents where homozygous dominant (AA) there will be a zero percent chance of a purple phenotype. Lastly If both parents were heterozygous (Aa x Aa) then there will be about a %25 chance of purple in the F2 gen, but seeing as how you lacked a homozygous recessive genotype in the F1 generation it will be less likely to show up in the F2 gen.

Hope that helped but when your dealing with genetics everything is just a coin flip and its impossible to know if the original parents were homozygous dominant, heterozygous dominate because regardless of the genotype, the dominate allele will effect the phenotype.
