    ice cold water is a liquid and ice is a solid, so technically they are diferent. They may be the same compound but structurally they're very diferent.

    But if you got water as cold as ice, ice-cold, it would be ice.

    Ice-cold water is just fucking cold water.

    The term ice-cold is just a term. It flows smoother in speech than nearly cold as ice water.

    False. You actually can get water colder than ice by adding salt to it.
