Not gonna do a long intro. Just gonna say that I'm tired of buying weed all the time, and this seems to be a much better idea. Plus I love checking the plant everyday and seeing its progress. I've been salivating over plants on these forums for a while, now I am gonna have some of my own!

    On with the pics!

Here is my modest set up, I have since added a fan, tin foil on the walls, and some 5600k bulbs for more blue light.

Ive decided to do my picture posting this way. Let me know what you guys think of it.

  2. looking good. i like the layout, very nice.

  3. thanks, I think it works out well. plus, i dont have to copy code as much this way.

  4. Everything is looking good bro..I like the layout of the pics, that is something I haven't seen on CG before:) How many watts do you have on your plants? I would take the tin foil out and paint the whole inside flat white. You will have better light reflection on your plants. Flat white paint reflects about 85-93% of the light back onto the plants, whereas tin foil reflects about 70-75%. Source was found in Jorge's medical grow bible.:smoking: Anyway if you need any help im here to help you through the grow dude:D

  5. Thanks bro. Ive noticed that the temperature is super high (80-85 degrees) and humidity is higher with the tin foil in there. Definitely gonna paint that shit white tomorrow! I would tonight, but im baked as hell, got new sheets on the bed, and i got my guitar next to me, i'm going no where!

  6. Great pics man! I also like the attention you are giving your babies! RE: the heat - it is not the foil, it is due to the lack of an exhaust fan - or a weak exhaust fan. It is a myth that cfls don't get hot!

  7. my exhaust does suck in fact. I will probably put an exhaust fan in this weekend. And as for the attention to detail. I only wish I had more plants to grow. I love growing and learning about these little fuckers. I cant wait till the 14 day mark, thats when I hear they really start growing!

  8. I lol'd at the cloning dog's leg :D

    Update time:

I have decided to bail out on the whole polaroid thing. Im super baked off some paralyzing dankness and ive been working on photoshop all day long.

So today was a good day for the grow. I killed two seeds by trying to germinate them in soil. So I tried the wet paper towel method and it worked perfectly. The new seeds have just sprouted and we will see if they grow up to be as pretty as their neighbor.

The big girl (I'm hoping) is doing well - I think. I have Ed Rosenthals "grow 8 oz. of bud for under 100 dollars." and his plants are WAAAYYY bigger than mine at day whatever it is. I tell myself its just the difference in strains.

Well, here are some pics of the set up. Notice how one of the new seedlings is lifted closer to the light with the box of nails. I thought I would do an experiment and see which plant does better. They both seem to be similar in size at this point.

This was the temp when i opened the cabinet today
    [IMG]

The big sister - Shes Day 22 from sprouting - I think shes behind schedule size wise. Am I right or does she look about normal? She is about 3.5" tall/wide(ish)

One of the new girls. I think this one is the same strain as the more mature one. The first leaves look very similar.

And this is the other new one.

And one of the new girls lifted closer to the 5600k CFL

    And the non lifted newbie

Oh, and I gotta add this picture from today. I was downtown and saw this, had to take a picture. This guy was either dead or really fucked up. It was in the high 80's all day.

  12. UPDATE!!!
    --------------

I apologize for the crap photos. Camera is on loan, but I couldnt help but check on my babies. Their doing well. One baby is definitely doing better than the other. I am starting to think that the baby that is doing the best is the same strain as the bigger plant, they look very similar as seedlings. I will know more when I see the smaller seedling progress. Lots of growth on the largest plant. There are new little leaves coming out of the area where the VERY first leaves were. You can see them on the very bottom. God I cant wait till I harvest these babies...SOOO MUCH BUD, my friends are going to love me.

What's up buddy, your plants are looking nice. Have you got an exhaust for your room? I noticed you added a fan and that's a plus. I would start giving them low (1/4) strength nutes every other watering on your bigget plant that is. I usually start watering with 1/4 strength nute solution for the first couple weeks then bump it up to 1/2 to see if there is any reaction. Don't forget to adjust your ph to around 6.2 after mixing your nutes with water. You can buy ph up and down to get to the right ph..which is critical for healthy plants. keep it up man you're doin good:smoke:

  14. Thanks for the info man. Its mucho appreciated. Sorry, pretty stoned and i keep thinking about 80's surf characters from the movies. I definitely need to start doing some research on which nutes are best for me. I do have a small fan inside the cabinet and then i have cracked the door to the cabinet and have a larger area fan blowing fresh air in. The plants seem to enjoy it. I will be installing 4" (X2) computer fans in the box. Hopefully they move enough air around.

I do think though that these 3 plants are going to outgrow their homes. I will be transplanting to a 3 gal pot as soon as the leaves reach the perimeter of the pot.

    Thanks for the help Dankstar

Ok, update. Seed B absolutely exploded. I opened the door to the cabinet and I was shocked. She looked twice her size. What I noticed the most was how much larger her leaves are compared to my first plant when it was at the same age. Here is a side by side comparison. Plant B on the left and Plant A on the right (at 11 days 6/7/09)

You can see that the leaves are already growing out to the border of the pot. It took my first plant probably 3 weeks to do that. This one has done it in 11 days.

Then there is the plant C, she is growing, just not as fast as her neighbor.

And here is the old girl, plant A, shes now 30 days old. I believe seed B is going to overtake her sooner or later.

Although, I am giving plant A nutrients today - so that might help her growth.

  16. Hey guys, update time i guess. havent really been spending much time around here. Tokecity is where all the responses are. Its almost like if your not flowering no one bothers giving you feedback. But Tokecity is down right now so I'll update here.

Plant A is not doing so well. Her leaves have burns on the tips, but her new leaves are looking green and healthy. Shes growing slow, but at least shes green right? She's is in sick bay at the moment, I just hope she makes it to harvest. Here are some pics of her leaves from the other day. Today when I checked on her the dead ends were curled up a lot more, but hadn't spread further into the leaf:

Plant B - the champ of the group is growing at a good pace. Today she was transplanted into a new container and Im sure she will love her new home. Here are some pics:

    Before the transplant:

Her roots coming out of the 1 gallon pot:

And here she is in her new home:

And here is a shot of plant C - she isn't quite ready for transplant, but she will be in a probably another week or so.

One question though: They usually are in my attick with 5600k CFL's, but today is quite sunny and i dont have proper ventilation up there yet, so I decided to put plants B and C outside on the roof for the day, then bring them back into the attick once the temps drop. Is it harmful to put an indoor plant outside for a day? I figured the girls could use some fresh air and sunshine.
