I woke myself up laughing last night...

Discussion in 'Real Life Stories' started by Duft, Feb 20, 2023.

  1. Normally I have zero trouble falling asleep and staying asleep but for the last week my sleep has been all messed up, waking up really early, really late...

Very early this morning I was dreaming about working the cattle on my grandfathers farm, not a real uncommon dream because I loved doing it as a teen. Then while I was calling them to the barn, one of them, stopped and sat on the ground (think like a dog sits) and starts asking me why she should listen to me, who died and made me boss. I literally woke myself up laughing because the mental image was so vivid, a talking cow. May not be so funny to all of you but it cracked me up big time. I had been smoking a new harvest of weed also, maybe that was it... :)

  3. My good or weird dreams outweigh the nightmares a hundred to one. Which is good but my nightmares keep getting scarier and scarier... The last one was a doozy...

  5. Well, Duft, at least it was just a dream. Ozzy Osborn took a hit of acid and imagined an hour long conversation with a horse. At the end of the chat, Ozzy saw him turn around, said, "F%$@ You!" And walked away. He said he stopped doing acid after that. I would have loved to have had your dream. I miss being on my aunt and uncle's cattle farm. We learned real fast not to mess with the bull.

  6. I'm sorry to hear that, Sis. Sounds like you have PTDS. I know how you feel. I finally broke down and told my kids about what happened to me. My daughter offered to start family therapy. I hope things get better for you.

  9. I do, well I THINK I do. Every morning I have memories of dreams from the night before. Some boring, some really cool. I used to live on a tropical island in the central Pacific and I used to scuba dive almost every day. I have many many dreams of being underwater swimming with the fishies...
But the dreams run the gamut from extreme violence (I'm always the good guy), to comedy, to traveling to different places. Some are vivid about the girl I SHOULD have married many many years ago.

  11. I'm the guy who stops the bad guy in the violent dreams. My absolute favorite dreams are the ones where I fly, kind of like Superman. I always wake up really refreshed and happy.

  13. Oh, wait, I got one!!!
I dreamed one night that I was eat a huge bowl full of cooked spaghettis, without the sauce. I had a big mouthful of it and I couldn't get to the end of it. It was like the noodles were 6 feet long! I woke myself up chewing on my quilt!

  14. Those vivid dreams will get me sometimes.
I remember when I got sick a few
Months ago I took some pain medicine, muscle Relaxers and something else, I forgot, and when I withdrew, the dreams were kind of freaky. For a few nights I would wake up crying lol and I wish I had better understood

I always wished I keep a dream notebook.
Just write my dreams down every morning and then what I think it meant. Guess it’s not too late. I guess I would have a better understanding of myself and deep thoughts

  15. When I was younger I would have ‘nightmares’ of this giant beeping wheel chasing me. The beeping would get loud and would wake me up.

well one day out the blue, I was watching price is right (I don’t watch that show) and I realized that giant wheel was the price is right wheel lol

no more dreams about that any more after that

  16. In a way, our dreams is a way for us to relive or go back to moments in life. The brain sorting itself out…

  17. I took a lot of psychology, minored in it and focused on dreams. And they really are, according to experts, supposed to be what someone above said, the brain trying to sort out thoughts and experiences and how to control our depression and anxiety. Not exactly sure what the dreams all actually MEAN, but it's still interesting to me.
