I would suggest that you read through the titles in my List and when you find something that you think would help educate your Mom, print it up! Have a nice little notebook all ready for the "fateful day"! By the time she actually catches you, you should be well educated in the medical facts!

I think that you'll find that honesty is always the best policy. Respect your mom by telling her the truth and she might respect you back by educating herself on cannabis use. After all... would you want your kid to feel like he/she needs to lie to you? It might be tough, but own up to the descisions you make, and it will shape you into a better individual.

I told my mom (MANY MANY moons ago) about my cannabis usage. I lived in her house, and even though I was an adult, out of respect for her, I told her. She kicked me out and basically disowned me. Time passed and we grew closer than ever. After she went to norml.com and read up on it, she sees nothing wrong with it. I even smoked with her a few times. Haha.
At first it was tough, but in the long run... the right way is always the best way.
Just treat her how you want to be treated.

But... this is just MY opinion as a son AND a father. But I would like to know what you decide to do, and what the outcome is. I wish the best for you and your mother. -one love-

 

Well i sure as shit wouldn't do that. It always sounds like a good idea until you decide to do it and than it becomes obvious that it is one of those conversation that is best only when needed. This is all dependent on one key factor and that is your relationship with her as king alluded to. Before you tell her ask yourself this "If she takes this worst as possible will i regret telling her in both the short or long run" and weigh it out.

 

Tell her, I don't think it will hurt your relationship if it is strong. When I was the hospital for some health issues she found out I have a mmj card (she was in the room when my doctor asked me bout drug use) and that I smoke everyday. She was surprised by this but realized it has not changed me as a person at all so how can she say it's bad? If your close with your mom, she probably already knows you anime every once and awhile at least.

 

Keep it to yourself man too much crying and ignorance your gonna have to deal with and there might be no way you can change her outlook on bud so its better for the both of you.

I remember when I went through the whole dilemma of my mom finding out that I consume cannabis.

There's two ways to look at this:
1. This way is from the stoner point of view, if you want to smoke weed and not be bothered by it by your mom with her incessant questioning, worrying, complaining, nosiness, etc. Don't tell her, you're really going to regret it.
2. This way is from the perspective of a "good son". If you tell your mom, it'll keep the trust that you two have strong, also it'll mean that there's no deception in your mother/son relationship which is really important.

But finally, either way, if you tell her or she finds out, things aren't going to be good. So it's really a gamble, you can either tell her and get into shit. Or you can keep being sneaky and both of you will be happy, until she finds out, which will be worse.

 

This sounds exactly like my situation 3 days ago. It took about 6 and a half pages as well as a long conversation of me convincing to get her to be alright with me doing it. I had another 6 pages written as well. Today I ordered my first bong. I also had her watch The Union and it helped. I'm super happy it all worked out. At first we were yelling and arguing and she was mad and all but once she calm down and such it was all good.

 

Yeah man you don't want her finding out that you do toke that would be really bad.

 

Dude whats the worst that can happen? Your mother will still love you afterwards, you'll still be her son, and she'll just accept that you get stoned. After my first few months my mom found out and I just did it anyway, and she just accepted it. The worst that can happen is you get kicked out, but fuck it's actually quite fun, lotsa parties. Just tell her and stop being a pussy!
