  1. For the past month or 2 I havent been able to get high without hating it. I have been smoking constantly for the past year and a half and Ive loved it, but one night I got super stoned and listened to some really awesome music which got my heart pumping hard and I had a panic attack.

I smoked the same amount the next day thinking it wouldnt happen again since I wasnt listening to any music and it happened again. Ever since then I havent been able to get high without being extremely afraid and everytime I smoke a tiny bit of weed I feel awful and have no idea what to do.

I have been looking up solutions this whole time and all I get is 'try a different strain or oils' or 'maybe the weed was laced' but I can absolutely guarentee that the strains arent the issue and the weed isnt laced. I have tried different strains, oils, edibles, and I dont think everyone I have smoked with has had laced weed for months.

I just dont want to give up smoking. Its really fun and made me feel great, but the future seems bleak for me at this point. Any help would be really appreciated. I wont answer anyone talking about different strains or laced weed tho haha.

  2. Are ya consuming the same stuff every time ya try to smoke again? Could be the weed maybe it’s a sativa that doesn’t agree with ya, maybe the thc content is too much for ya, or it was harvested too early. Do ya know the strain? I can’t consume any haze strains for the same reason.

  3. This is a common problem with even experienced smokers. It's not the strain or the music, the problem is in your head. THC in larger doses speeds your heart rate and when you notice and start worrying it just makes your heart beat faster and that makes you worry more. It's a vicious cycle and a self fulfilling prophecy. There are various distraction techniques you can use to change the conversation in your head, you can google distraction techniques for panic attacks and get some ideas. When I was first learning how to get past it I used a heart rate monitor and biofeedback to will my heart to slow down and then I learned how to focus on something else when my mind first started down the dark path. When you can truly not give a shit when you notice your heart pumping at 125 then you're getting somewhere. It's not going to hurt you and with panic attacks the only thing you have to fear is fear itself. Get over the fear and you're over the problem. In the meantime take one tiny hit and stop for the evening. It'll help you build confidence.

  5. Yeah I think youre right, I have to find a way to stop thinking about my heart rate and get my mind off the panic. Just easier said than done haha especially when I get blasted high after like 3 hits (lightweight) but still thank you for the advice! If I can come back to the high life Ill definitely post an update.
