I Want To Make One Weed Cupcake...?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by SourD, Jun 14, 2013.

1. I have never cooked with weed before, so I don't know how to go about this.
and note that I'm not making an entire batch of them, just one for myself.
How much weed should I use for my cupcake, one gram, or a gram and a half...also, is the high weaker when eaten?
and last question, how should I put the weed inside of it? I heard you're supposed to somehow liquify it in oil if you're making an entire batch, but I can't do that if i'm only making one, so what, do I just crush up the weed and throw it in?

2. You need to make a single serving of canna oil, then take a cupcake recipe and cut it down to a single serving, and then replace the oil in the recipe with the canna oil.
Just putting the weed in the recipe and cooking it will not bring about the desired results.
3. Put however much you want but at least one gram. It's simple

Grind the weed as much as you can. Get like a cup of oil. Throw that in a pan over low heat, throw the weed in there. Let it simmer for about 2 hours since its only a gram or gram and a half. All the THC is extracted into the oil, so technically the weed is now useless though you could just throw it in the brownie mix. Just follow the directions in the box and mix it all up
4. I apologize if this is a stupid question, but how much is a single serving? ...*smacks forehead*
5. The high is longer and more stronger, one gram in one cupcake should get you bugged
6. I have no idea and a single serving seems like a waste but I hear all the kids on here talking about firecracker. I have no idea what they are but i guess it's a single serving you can make in the microwave. I don't think it would work but there are hella threads on it and people swear by it so that might be something to look up b
7. How much oil would you need for just one cupcake though?
You might as well just use the cupcake pan. Just grind up the weed and put it in one of the cupcake molds, then cover it with oil (don't go overboard, because it will ruin your cupcake), then follow the instructions in that thread.
While it's in the oven, mix up the ingredients for the cupcake (minus the oil). Pull your canna oil out of the oven when it's been in there for the correct amount of time, strain it, add oil to the cupcake mix, pour into cupcake tin, bake it per the directions (may want to subtract a minute because you're only making one).

I'm not sure, but i would guess maybe half a cup
Lmao. Got an experienced baker over here...
I too love my cupcakes as an inedible pile of sludge at the bottom of the pan.
11. We're not all experienced as making one gram cupcakes like you man lol. Fix your life
I've never made a single cupcake, but I understand baking well enough to know that a 1/2 cup of oil in a single cupcake is a terrible idea.
If you don't know, don't post.
13. That's why I said" I would guess" as well as " I'm not sure" you idiot
:) Enjoy getting that post count up posting useless crap about things that you don't understand. Great contribution to the forum.

the amount of weed you need to use depends on how much you smoke and how high you want to get so experiment there as for the actual amount of oil needed the cupcake box recipe should have all that information
16. Like you said, you've never baked a single cupcake before. Shows how smart you are by posting about something completely foreign to you LOL
17. Mmmm, Canna Cupcakes :D
How much do you usually smoke in a day? There's your dose, or serving amount :) But you'll want to start by eating half, and waiting for an hour to see how you feel, either way. Some people are comfortable eating the full amount, and others can get hit a lot harder by edibles. Well-made edibles tend to produce stronger, longer lasting effects than smoking the same material.
For some, these effects can be MUCH stronger! If you're one of the lucky ones, you'll still have half of your cupcake left by the next day, ultimately cutting your usual smoking intake in half, and for a more powerful experience to boot. :)
I'm going to guess it's probably not over a gram, and suggest that you could get away with making as little as 1 - 1.5tsp of oil. If you can't find coconut oil, then you'll first want to heat some common butter over a medium heat, until its water content evaporates (about 10% of its volume), and skim out the milk solids as they form. For such a small amount, this won't take more than a few minutes, to just a minute or so once it heats up. Now you have clarified butter, or pure milk fat, which is a MUCH better solvent for cannabis glandular material than standard butter. Coconut oil and butter, in that order, are you best common edible solvents for processing herb.
Now it seems silly, but the easiest way to make a single cupcake, is just to buy a box of cake mix, take a heaping Tbsp, and just hydrate it with your oil and a spoon of water then bake according to the directions. You can add a touch of egg to keep it held together, but it's really not necessary (at least in my opinion for a single cupcake). Otherwise, take and blend a tsp each of flour, sugar, cocoa, plus the tiniest pinch of baking soda, then add your oil, and stir in a few drops of water, adding drops until it reaches the not-quite-runny consistency you'd expect from cake batter.
As for your oil....
I'll preface this by saying, if you're just making a single serving to see how you like edibles, that's cool! :yay:
But if you're looking for a simple process and an easy way to save time, and especially if you enjoy edibles, then you should make more than one dose at a time. This disclaimer is probably more appropriate for future readers than the OP. :)
- Making a one serving edible is not easier.
- It doesn't save you time.
- It takes the SAME effort, and requires the same process, as making a full batch.
- And the more often you make single serving doses, the more time it wastes!
A hypothetical recreational user, knowing he or she may want a handful of edibles over the next few months, could take a few hours, and make thirty doses. After those few hours, they're done.
Or he could take a few hours and make a single dose...
Then take another few hours the next time, and another few the next time, and the time after that, and the time after that.... and finally, by making them one at a time, he has multiplied those few hours thirty times over, increasing his effort thirty times, and adding literally several hundred hours just to get the SAME number of edibles!
I'd much rather make a few dozen (or a few hundred ;) ) doses, using the exact same time and effort, because in comparison that makes producing just one functional dose, seem very tedious, for very little gain!
1- Preheat your oven to 220 F.
2- Finely grind your herb, then place in a pyrex baking dish, and wrap completely with foil... it can be a casserole dish, a pie dish. Worst case scenario a metal baking pan, or even a 'pouch' of foil.
3- Bake at 220 F to decarb, for 30 minutes, or 20 or so minutes for a foil pouch... if your herb seems ridiculously old or poorly stored, you can halve the decarb time. If it seems fresh, or like it's been stored properly, give it the full treatment.
4- Combine with your oil, cover again with foil, and continue to heat at 220 F for (I'm guessing you're a recreational user?) at least two hours. Medical users would normally heat a little less, then go from there to create the sensations they need.. less heat produces a more functional, and cerebral 'high' that can get mind-racy in higher doses. But recreational users usually want something closer to the 'CBN induced' zoned-out/couch-lock, so that's where we're going. :)
5- Freeze AT LEAST two hours... (if you were working with a larger amount, I'd suggest a minimum of 4, or ideally overnight)!
6- Allow to thaw to room temp, and continue heating at 220 F for an additional hour. If this edible is too cerebral, and not stoney enough, next time heat for an additional two hours. :)
7- Now just strain if you want, otherwise, you can move directly on to your cupcake! :)
If you need more help and details, here are some tutorials that will help you create high quality and medical grade edibles :yay:
But first to get your appetite going, here are a few photo excerpts from the CannaPharm thread....
This entire Thanksgiving Dinner, including the turkey, was fully medicated!

Truffles are super simple, they require three or four simple ingredients, they take about 10 minutes.. and no baking is required!

(Canna chocolate can be made by simply melting your favorite store-bought brand of chocolate, then adding the desired number of doses of canna oil, or hash oil! But if you feel up for it, you can start from scratch like we often do, and make your own with select chocolate liquors, cacao powders, cacao/cocoa butters, and hash oil or canna oil, preferably still made with coconut oil or clarified butter, but for a 'gourmedible' and a more pure chocolate, at the cost of some absorption efficiency, you can even make your canna oil from cocoa butter! We use pure cocoa canna butters sometimes for weddings, anniversaries, and even just around the holidays :) )

Canna S'mores, made with marshmallow, PB Canna Cookies, and Hashy Bars...

Capsules are one of the most simple edibles, no further cooking required, and they may be enterically coated for patients who may specifically benefit from the release of cannabinoids below the stomach, in the duodenum. Alternatively, they may be used as suppositories to directly treat even lower regions. :)

Each jar and bottle below, along with a few smaller gift bags with caps and chocolates, were given to the local
patients most in-need
and those who had suffered the most hardship this year... enough for most to medicate daily, until
at least spring! [IMG]

If video tutorials are more useful for you, here is the World Summit edition of the CannaPharm information....
You'll be wanting Vol. 1 - & - Vol. 4. , but I'll also include the previews..... the extra time-lapsed footage of little seedlings germinating and growing over the course of a day, obscuring the little GrassCity hello sign in a matter of seconds is pretty neat to watch, too. :D :yay:
Both Rick Simpson and I were the headlining 'star speakers' of the Cannabis World Summit, the Summit is an annual, 10-day, free and informative event, available to all members of our community who are interested in cannabis, in its medical applications, and in what the major players in the community are up to. :)
Nine of the ten days featured three or more speakers for each day, Rick and I were asked to share the Big 4/20 day of the Summit alone due to the volume of content we provided the community, and to our track records with treating and even curing cancer, as well as other illnesses, with our medical oils! My medical oil video tutorials, Rick's interview, and his documentaries can be found on Day 5 / 4-20-2013, along with some bonus footage from Rick. :D

Hur hur.
I haven't baked "a single cupcake" as in, one by itself.
Step out of the kitchen kid.
19. ^ Calm down children.

Make a firecracker. Cover two crackers in regular (not nonfat) peanut butter or nutella, put like .5 between the crackers, and bake at 330 for 22 minutes.

Smoke a bowl while it's cooking, eat it, and liftoff.

:D I'm in a argumentative mood tonight lol.
