I have woods in the wayyyy back of my neighborhood, PERFECT place to grow... No one goes there and im there all the time.... I want to grow, and I have attempted to, in the normal dirt. I need tips on how to make good grow. I live in Louisiana btw. any help would be lovely. Thanks!
First off welcome to gc.. I definitely have to start by saying be sure to go check out the outdoor forum and read through all the stickies there... They will provide you with a lot of useful information that could help you along your grow.. Bad news though is the farmers almanac says the first frost for Monroe, LA is Nov. 7 and New Orleans is Dec. 5... I don't think you are going to be able to get a outside grow up and going and to harvest with this little time left.. Especially if you are wanting a decent harvest and not just hash.. Your best bet is to spend this time researching and then wait till next year to start growing.. If you could get anything to grow I'd say maybe an auto, but it depends on when your frost will fall between those times.. Goodluck next year or you can always go indoor.. If you do get your outdoor up and going be sure to update..
First of all, good for you. Outside is tough, so I applaud you. That said, you need to keep in mind that growing outside is going to be difficult, especially when you're new - AND even if you do everything right. Outdoor conditions change day to day, so it can be hard to keep up with things, especially if you can't make it to the area every day. BUT...plants like outdoor conditions better than manufactured conditions. I found a few links online that seem to be helpful (Google is always the best place to start, you know): How To Grow Marijuana Outdoors Growing marijuana - Garden Security Tips Urban Grower | Advanced Nutrients Medical | Medicinal Marijuana Cultivation Information These should get you started. And find some books too - Marijuana Horticulture is a good one to use. Lots of info. And make sure you use nutes that are designed for outdoor growing, slow release works best in these difficult conditions. Heavy Harvest is one system available, from Advanced Nutrients. But there might be others that work better for you. good luck!
