i used to use my MH/HPS lights, ballast, and supply box and it worked great and I never had any problems with it. i just tryed to use it again about 3 days ago and it just starts to light the bulb up in the middle of it(not an actual like light, its the blue that it has when its getting ready to start), like its just warming up but it never turns on. it never even flashes like it does before its fully on. they both just have a blue in the middle of them, thats all that happens, i left it on for over 30 minutes and it didnt light up. does anyone know what is wrong with my ballast, or supply box? im pretty sure it can't be the bulbs, i havnt even had them a year and i barely even used them. i let sit it in my closet for about 5 months. does anyone know what is wrong with it??
I bought a 600w digital HPS system from HTG about a year ago and it worked all of twice. Funny thing is the basic 400W HPS system they sell for so cheap has never been anything but awesome, 5 years later.
BTW ... if you baught it all in a light kit where your bulb ballast and reflector all came together for one price, chances are they gave you a used bulb, this is how alot of places make $$, its usually a new bulb only if they advertise that its a brand new bulb, otherwise theyll give either a used bulb or a bs bulb
thnx guys,i looked at my metal halide light and it has some black crust/mold look on the inside where it gets blue before it turns it on. so i think it might be the bulb. thnx for the help. im gonna order a new bulb and see if it works.
