Ok total newb here. I'm tired of buying from dealers since i don't really know any that i trust. But i really don't know anything about growing. What seeds would you reccomend for my first try? And a link to a detailed growing guide would be awesome. Oh and would it be impossible to keep this a secret from my roomate? He's not really down with bud and i would prefer he just didn't know.
Yo man. First thing you should do before doing anything is read. Read the sticky's on germination here on Grass City as well as all sticky's in "General indoor growing", "absolute beginners", and "sick plants section". Then consider getting a book written by Mel Frank called Marijuana growers insider guide, and read that sucker from cover to cover. Since you have some stealth issues because of your room mate, you especially need to read about grow room design setup. There is a section here in GC on that too; hang out there for a while. How many plants you plan to grow? This will determine the size of room necessary and the size of light you need. Oh and for first grows, financially speaking, bag seed is probably a wise decision on what to grow. So much for you to read, so little time...
Wow, okay guess i better start reading. Oh and i want to just grow enough to last me between harvest. Which from what i understand is about 3 months?
Growing around other people is always risky. If they don't like MJ they could trash your grow or cause other problems. If the do like MJ they could steal it from you. People are nosy -- they look in your medicine cabinet when they use your bathroom, and roommates look in your closet and drawers when you aren't home. Anyone who knows about it will tell others that they know, who will tell others, and that's not the kind of info you want floating around. Let me guess -- you are in an apartment? In a tight space like that you will have a hard time keeping the fan noise, odor, watering/tending, and other activities private through an entire grow. So in my opinion, not knowing your situation -- yeah, I think it will be pretty difficult to keep it secret. For seeds bagseed is fine if the smoke it came from was good. Otherwise try Northern Lights, a potent strain that is hardy to grow, low height, and low odor. Read all the sticky posts at the top of this forum and all the other forums here at GC, there are grow guides and many other helpful resources to be found right here.
also for newbs, how does one go about finding seeds/cuttings/etc. locally? i kno0w this is happening on a large scale in my area.
My roomate is cool. i can't imagine him going into my room without my permission. And i plan to keep this a secret from, well everybody. I don't want people to start trying to bum green off me. Oh, and where is the room setup FAQ on GC?
