I think I screwed up

  1. Recently I put my 5 clones into the ground, after about a week in the ground they were doing awesome dark green and super healthy. I noticed some bug damage so I sprayed with insecticide soap, I think I overdid it and used to much. Came back 3 days later and they were light green and didn't look near as heathy and a lot of the new growth had burnt tips. I can see the soap burning the tips but all the leaves are a different colour now. I can tell compared to the previous week that there growth is slowed. When will these negative affects from the spray wear off. I tried watering the leaves to rinse some of it off but I think it's to late for that. I'm not worried about them dieing but I hate hurting my girls. Any comfort for me?

  2.   They will outgrow it as they are still in veg for several more weeks.. Your going to need a regular IPM (invasive pest management) program to insure a good clean harvest.. To keep it as organic as we can and still keep it pest and mold free the materials we use are very short lived and need weekly treatments to remain effective..
I don't like most ready to spray products as I find them way to potent for what we need.. I use neem oil mixed at the lowest rate on the container and I'm very careful when I spray as the oils can cause a magnifying effect and burn the plant.. Very early so the spray is completely dry before the sun hits it or after the sun is off the plants late afternoon.. While neem is great stuff I stop using it after the plants show flower..
B T or Bacillus thuringiensis is the primary defense against caterpillars.. Weekly to maintain control..
Green Cure.. Potassium Bicarbonate for Powdery Mildew.. Again I hit them once a week..

Since it's that time of year I've been fine tuning this bit of text I paste where and when needed.. Got tired of typing it out time after time..
Let me know if it needs corrected or added to.. any constructive criticism is welcome..

If your growing outside your going to need an IPM ( integrated pest management ) routine.. This one is mine..
BT bacillus thuringiensis.. Caterpillar control..  sold under several names

BT-I as mosquito dunks and bits for Fungal Gnats... http://www.pondbiz.c...ges/Sum1156.jpg

To avoid the sprayer contamination issue I had last year I simply bought 4 sprayers
    http://www.lowes.com...ayers=

Most all of this can be found at Home Depot or Lowes except the Green Cure.. Hydro shop for that..
Buy a new sprayer and rinse really well between solutions or buy multiple sprayers like I did..
I do my treatments like any good farmer.. up well before dawn
    Spray BT on Monday..
    Green Cure on Tuesday
Neem on Wednesday.. Only in veg
    Spinosad Thursday

  3. Brass gave you great advice. I suggest treating your plants at least weekly and rotate what you use each week. Mites and other pest can develop an immunity to pesticides if used repeatedly. Make sure what you use kills both mites and caterpillars along with other pest. I use a combo of Neem, Bt, spinosad, azamax, an other organic mineral oil solution and a few other products. Each treatment I use a squirt of organic dish soap in the solution. The soap ifs the airway of mites and kills them. Treat the plants at sun rise or just before sun set. I prefer sunset as it has the lowest risk of burning the plants. Also with organic insecticide, sunlight breaks them down and spraying before darkness allows it to remain at full strength longer than if sprayed before the sun came up.
