Ok I didnt really know where to put this, so if its in the wrong place i do apologize. I don't know if its coincidence, or what for sure, but ever since I was a child iv had the uncanny ability to predict the future. Now when I say this, I dont mean I can tell you every single thing about the future. I dont have a crystal ball. I will give you examples, and let you decide for yourself. When I was about 4 or 5 my grandma started to get sick with a disease that completely crippled her within a few years. I was pretty close to her, and nothing was really unusual at the time aside from her being in a wheel chair. One night at the dinner table on a completely normal night, my dad gets a phone call. As soon as the phone rings this weird thought pops into my head that my grandma has died. I thought I was being crazy. My dad stepped out of the room for about 15 minutes, and confirmed a thought that had ran through my very head 15 minutes earlier. Two years ago, My fathers other parent (his dad) suffered from a stroke. My dads birthday was a month away. The same feeling came over me. I thought, "man it would be really fucked if he died on my dads birthday." Sure enough he held on until july 6. MY DADS FUCKING BIRTHDAY. The other day I was working with a guy I know who runs a heating and air company, and we were repairing washers and driers at a local job corps. Anyway I was walking and I saw a buisness card laying face down on the ground. I saw the card and again my brain generated a thought. I thought "it would be funny to find a card with something about weed on it at a job corps." It was a business card for a Medical MJ doctor. I can upload a pic of that for proof too lol. I took that thing with me. There are hundreds of other occasions of similar things, but these are the ones that are the most recent, and or stick out the most. Its nothing I can control. Situations arise, and I feel like I already know what will happen sometimes. Call me crazy, troll, r-tard, pig nipple, whatever you guys want. I dont care if you believe me lol. Tldr. I see shit bitch
I appreciate your opinions, and honestly wouldn't take what im saying seriously unless it had happened to me. It isn't something that I can control per say, but when these gut feelings come over me, I am rarely wrong. Maybe just good intuition? I don't know. But I notice it more as I get older and mature.
If these things help you out, if these things cause you to stop and reflect, if these things put you into a different space, and reveal that life is not as clear-cut as some believe, then they're doing their job.
Ha! No one said "tl:dr." People make assumptions all the time, and sometimes these assumptions run close to fact - just because you made a prediction that was correct doesn't mean you are psychic. Think of all the times you made predictions that didn't prove to happen - re : "tl:dr". Like a previous poster said, it's likely the confirmation bias fallacy at play. edit: As a side note, no one even called you any of those derogatory names you expected us to call you.
See the thing is, if someone claims to "predict" the future, then they should say "ahh, I KNOW that this event is going to happen on such day" not "I wonder if this event is going to happen on such a day". Honestly, I think predictions are just successful guesses. Most of the time they are very bold and most of the time they are plain wrong. In your case I would say intuition or gut feeling. You aren't predicting the future, but merely reading into signs of what may come and then expecting the worst.
That's what im saying. I might not be able to PREDICT the future, but my mind works in such a way that I see the aparent obvious. 9 times out of 10 when I have these thoughts it happens. So while you say im simply expecting the worst, is it really possible that iv had such bad luck that more often than not, im right? I don't claim to have any knowledge of future events, I couldn't tell ya what stocks to buy to become a millionair. But when I have these thoughts, that seem almost foreign to me, that come true; I can't help but feel weird. Thanks for all the replies.
Exactly. People who have never experienced it are bound to question it, because it dosent make any logical sense. It's almost feels like an emotion that you never thought existed. Quite intangible, but real.
Today at work I had something similar happen to me.. Its really weird! and for me its always right before it happens..
Well, unfortunate for you, but you didn't ever actually predict anything. You just anticipated unfortunate events, which were likely to happen sometime around when they did happen. It's called intuition really, not metaphysical intuition, but logical, predictive intuition. If I see clouds and I say "dang it would suck if it rained now", and then it rains, that's just anticipation, not "seeing the future" in any crystal ball sort of manner. And some of the examples you're speaking of are humorous, like the weed card, not actual predictions. What would be more impressive is if you said a few days before with confidence, "On 9/11/2001 Flight 93 and three other planes are going to be hijacked and two of them will crash into both WTC buildings and 102 minutes later both buildings will have collapsed, while another lands in PA and another hits the Pentagon, killing a total of ~3000 ppl and leading to two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq which will still be going on a decade later." That would be an accurate prediction. The Red Sox hadn't won a World Series since like 1918, but I predicted at the beginning of 2004 (beginning, before the season started even) that they were gonna win the WS that year. And they did. That doesn't make me psychic; I just got lucky in that isolated case. But it's not all luck. They had a good team that year, offensively and defensively. Prediction is part luck but also knowing the distribution of what is likely to happen.
Man, I have dreams of places I've never been and only realize it later when I go to those places. Happens more often when I'm out of my element (on vacation, in a new city/apartment.). I have no way of discerning them from regular dreams though, so it is not very useful. Gives me a creepy sense of dejavu from time to time though.
Well obviously if I "predict" it and it dosent happen, I didn't predict anything. I think you should be able to answer that question yourself tho. Im not quite sure why you felt the need to ask. I never said you had to believe me, so if you don't, have at it.
I would consider it couincident too, if it wasn't so often, and with such accuracy. I knew months before my grandpa died, the day he would die. The odds are gainst that being couincidence. If it only happened randomly, and more often than not I was wrong, it would be coincidence. Tell me good sir, in your life have you experience coincidence with such perpensity and resolve that you could no longer call it coincidence. When does coincidence become something more? If you get down to it every interaction in our daily lives is all pure happenstance and coincidence. So when it gets to the point that every day im noticing these coincidences, why not call it what it is. People who haven't experienced this are blind to it. Open your mind good sir. All things are possible.
