Wee all know its there, even if some of us choose to ignore it...There is a RAW POWER behind metal that NO OTHER genre of music holds, the epicness of the riffs, the pure technical spect behind the playing, nothing comes close.

EVEN IF YOU DO NOT LIKE METAL, you CANNOT deny the power behind it, FEEL FREE TO POST WHAT YOU THINK ARE THE MOST POWERFUL METAL SONGS, ill start

all i can say is HOLY SHIT!!!! i listened to this song for the first time about 2 weeks ago, and it blew me the fuck away, There are maybe 3 or 4 Periphery songs i like.....but this is probably my new Favorite Metal Song. When the CHORUS kicks in it gives me chills...EVERY time

    PROGRESSIVE METAL IS THE FUTURE!!!!

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pskj9sbffg]PERIPHERY - MAKE TOTAL DESTROY (OFFICIAL VIDEO) - YouTube[/ame]

here are the Lyrics of my FAVORITE part of the song, it has such a DEEP meaning for me (of course the meaning i find is cannabis related xD) read it and analyze it...It speaks "the end of prohibition" to me xD

"The time has come for all to see.
The men behind the curtain cast into disease.

    Take back the light.
It's a dangerous place we're headed for if we accept
    defeat.
Now we know it's a show they've been running from
    below.
Burn it down until the ground beneath the faulty entity
    is Glistening.

Under the wings of a golden era.

    Listening.

To the hate they created inside us, we grow. "

    OH YES!

The entire band are marijuana users, and they sure as hell dont hide it xD....where could you even BEGIN to write a song like this or conceive a Video like this if you WERE NOT stoned lol

I CHALLENGE ANYONE HERE WHO CAN PLAY A GUITAR TO TRY AND LEARN THIS SONG, because of the shear skill involved in playing this song, you will FAIL, id like to think of myself as a good guitar player, ill link my soundcloud below...i failed in learning this song MISERABLY

my soubdcloud: i got a couple originals at the bottom

i know man, this was my rection soon as the chorus in this song kicked in the FIRST time i listened: ""

and your thoughts on the Chorus when it kicks in? i think that part of the song is definately the "clincher"

the guitar work, the drum work, the vocalist, this IS the PERFECT metal song

how Human Beings can get together, collaborate, and produce something this EPIC is beyond me....humans really are something special :smoke:

HERES SOME PICS OF MY BABIES FOR THE BUMP!!! in these pics the first 2 are 14 days from breaking soil and the 3rd is at 15 days i SWEAR! also eveidence of how AWESOME human beings are. first pic is indoor, last 2 are obviously outdoor

    [/quote]

You're so juiced haha. And yeah, the chorus is what really got me hooked and when I saw the epic guitar playing, dude, I don't even know. It's insane how people can create such unimaginably awesome works of art and music on a day to day basis. There's so much of it yet to be discovered and it's just amazing what the human brain and body is capable of doing. It makes science interesting.

you sir, are having the same reaction i did as soon as i dleved deaper into periphery, just dont expect them to vary much, they have a very particular style, and they are NOT straying from it

:D and if by juiced you mean "stoned off my everl loving ass" then you would be correct sir:hello:

heres another, this is their BALLAD xD, their drummer needs a fucking AWARD for this song, their bass player too, a little more "poppy" then their other stuff though

  8. im on a roll, this isnt periphery but this is my Favorite song from Upon a Burning Body, im thinking about turning this into a "This is why metal is awesome" thread....can a Mod change the title maybe? JUST WAIT FOR THE CHORUS, this song is soooooo catchy to me, it is another song where the chorus brings it on home so to speak xD

I need to listen to Upon A Burning Body more often. Makes me sad when I realize how much I don't listen to them. :/

  12. You should check out Attila. I'm not so sure if they're progressive though but Rage and Girls Don't Lie are two of my favorite songs by them. They're pretty strange though.

  13. Try from mars to Sirius by gojira.

Where dragons dwell is amazing. The whole thing is actually.. :smoke:

  15. So, I've never heard of Gojira (I'm way out of the music loop) so I decided to look them up on YouTube.

What can I say? They're pretty fuckin good. I listened to L'Enfant Sauvage and the video is kind of a trip.

  16. hell yea

  18. Eh, I don't see what's so amazing about it, but then again I find technicality and guitar wankery extremely boring. This whole proggy, mathcore/djent thing is just another trendy phase that will pass, much like deathcore.

    Dude... I love deathcore.

  20. I like everything but the screaming vocals, I know lots of people say that but I really hate the sound of screaming like that, it wrecks so much metal for me.
