I see flashes of light when I close my eyes

  1. At least when I'm about to sleep and I start concentrating on my body and what not. When I sleep, or lay down for the night at least, I generally concentrate on my spine and the energy (or maybe it's my pulse) that I can feel. Originally, it was down at the base of my spine, but lately it feels as if this energy has been traveling upward. I hope I don't explode or spontaneously combust. But still, I get these random flashes. I open my eyes to see if anyone's been fuckin' with me and flickering hte lights, but then again I live alone.

I've done a lot of reading about these flashes. Some say it's detatched nerves and all that bullshit. When you try to mention the spirituality angle, you always have these dickheads that poke fun.

I don't know what I'm getting at here. I'm aware of the chakras and stuff and I've tried to meditate, but can't quite get it. I've been having very vivid dreams ever since I got into this whole thing. Really vivid. Almost as if I'm playing a video game vivid, but I only play Madden at my cousin's house (I beats his ass all the time. H.T.T.R!) What is it? Anyone else know or have these experiences?

  2. Probably just some synapse in the brain misfiring causing visual hallucination, it happens to me sometimes and I know a few other people with similar occurances

  3. Not necessarily flashes, but everyone see's dim colored lights when they close their eyes. I've seen the flashes that you're talking about as well though. I wouldn't attribute it to anything really spiritual necessarily, it has it's roots in something spiritual but basically everyone see's colors and lights when they close their eyes in the dark.

As far as the sensation at the base of your spine, did this cause you to look into Kundalini/Chakras or did you start looking into kundalini and then you started to notice the sensations in the Muladhara chakra (base)

  4. A little bit of both, actually. I heard about the kundalini then looked into it. Then I actually tried to see if I could meditate and/or feel the sensations but I felt that I couldn't concentrate enough. Then as I kept looking into it, I began to feel a slight build up of pressure at certain points in my back.

    So...yeah.

  5. Well, I think you can eliminate the possibility that your Kundalini is ascending, because that takes a lot of discipline and practice for a long time, some people don't get the Kundalini to fully ascend in a lifetime.

You shouldn't be jumping straight into kundalini anyway, you need to build a strong foundation before you start trying to raise your kundalini, especially because if you have premature ascension it causes terrible effects, potentially death.

If your really interested in it I could provide you with some preliminary steps or sources to learn about this kind of thing so that you're a. not wasting your time and b. not striving towards something so powerful with ignorance.

  6. Sounds like a brain tumor to me.

  7. Anticlimactic.

Well, if you can provide the info, then plz do.

  8. I have had this in deep meditation as well, and luckily it was after being informed of what it was rather than before.

To my knowledge, it has to do with kundalini.
